domino
No we did enough over 2 games to stay in the Milk Cup which is the top 8 teams from 24 entrants who play for the main trophy - the next 8 best teams play for the BT Northern Ireland trophy and the last 8 teams play for the Dunvegan Trophy. Hearts will play their quarter final tie tonite & win or lose they will then play thursday in the semi-finals - top 4 group (winners) bottom 4 group (losers) and then again on friday there is the final (top 2) and 3 play off games (3/4th, 5/6th & 7/8th). They have got to win tonight or they are out and will automatically be playing the rest of the week in play off games.

Charlie-Brown
They have got to win tonight or they are out and will automatically be playing the rest of the week in play off games. Nobody goes out of the tournament....... All 24 teams play 2 games in the Milk Cup on Monday and tuesday then they split into 3 tournaments Top 8 teams: Milk Cup quarter finals (todays stage for Hearts) Middle 8 teams: BT Northern Ireland Trophy Bottom 8 teams: Dunvegan Trophy In all 3 tournaments they play quarter final stages today (wednesday) On thursday the winners play in the semi-finals for the top 4 places and the losers play in the semi-finals for the bottom 4 places....this applies in all 3 tournaments. On friday the 3 Trophy finals get played as well as all the 3rd/4th, 5th/6th and 7th/8th play offs for each tournie. In all 3 tournaments every team plays a total of 5 matches between monday to friday and finishes between 1st-8th place in the Top, Middle & Bottom Cup tournaments.....ultimately every team finishes between 1st-24th overall. Charlie-Brown
The lowest Hearts can now finish is 8th place in the Milk Cup which as that is the top section they qualified for means 8th is also the lowest they can finish overall out of the 24 teams who entered.....If Hearts win tonite they will definitely finish between 1st-4th overall, if they lose tonite then they will finish between 5th-8th overall - the final two games decide the placing in the top 4 & bottom 4 split after todays game. jamboinglasgow
Not a surprise really. Wonder if any of the kids they signed from us where playing?! Daniel Galbraith is coming up to his 18th birthday so maybe too old. David Gray is a bit older so defently wont play. Come on the wee hearts tonight, hopefully get down to the last four. As cornhill said the U17s should be a good team as they are mixed with last years U15s who have some crackers. Hopefully this is what happens in the future the lower section is better than the section above (not saying the above section is bad just they good and the below one are even better.) I think you might have misinterpreted what i meant, when i said they are out then as it is a knock out stage then they are out of the running to win the tournament, I did state later in my comment that it would be play off games the rest of the week which is correct
