OTT Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I want us to stay in the competition as long as we possibly can. So another shite draw would be good. Fraserborough, Clydebank etc. would be perfect.
LarrysRightFoot Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Home to lower league (preferably League 1 or 2) opposition.
HeartsandonlyHearts Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Home tie would be nice Fraserburgh would be nice Kilmarnock would be nice Elgin would be nice Clydebank would be hilarious HHGH
Henroddy Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The lowest ranked team. If we win cup nobody will remember or care who we beat to get there

Penrices left boot Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Anyone apart from Celtic, especially away, it's a 1 in 20 shot ti knock them out. I'd prefer to avoid rangers as well, but the games have been close and they are a bit more vulnerable than normal. Weakest team at home but away is ok, looking at the draw and likley upsets that may well be Hamilton or Mussleburgh. Do you reckon Mussleburgh move a home tie v us to ER?

EH11 2NL Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Easiest tie at home all the way every time. Rangers v Celtic would be great.

Victorian Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Seems to be plenty of 'soft-softer' options. Ayr, Cove, Airdrie, Dunfermline, Hamilton, Queens Park, Livingston. Any of those at Tynecastle. Hopefully 4 of the other 6 to be drawn together and 1 to upset a Premiership team so 3 appear in the last 8. Get one of them at home. Ideally the OF to play in the 16s or 8s.
Percival King Posted January 18 Posted January 18 The weakest team, at home. The cup's all about getting through to the next round and the weakest team, at home, gives us the best opportunity to do that. Boring but who'll care if we win it in May.
N Lincs Jambo Posted January 18 Posted January 18 If we’re to get a tough draw I’d take Rangers at home. Our home cup record against them is excellent.
Heres Rixxy Posted January 18 Posted January 18 I asked AI to predict the draw. Would take this. Heart of Midlothian vs. Airdrieonians Aberdeen vs. Queen's Park St Johnstone vs. Cove Rangers Hibernian vs. Ayr United Livingston vs. Dunfermline Athletic St Mirren vs. Winner of Dundee vs. Dundee United Celtic/Kilmarnock vs. Hamilton Academical/Musselburgh Athletic Rangers/Fraserburgh vs. Falkirk/Raith Rovers
Macros Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Having watched Ayr this afternoon I wouldn't want them, especially away. Fast on the break, yeah Broxburn weren't at their best and are Lowland League but Ayr are doing well in the Championship and will be a test for most teams at the moment.

Home tie vs lower league opposition. The cup is all about progression.. Keep the dream alive. Avoid serious challenges until semi or final. 98 and 2012 we had to beat old firm to win it but just sometimes yer luck is in like 2006 and we avoid them and the final is favourable ( altho we made hard stress out of that! )

Leveinthedream Posted January 18 Posted January 18 An away trip to somewhere ive not been idealy, old firm away would be good with a bigger allocation. or something nice and easy as always
AndrewB Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Assuming Rangers win, there’s 7 Premiership teams we can draw and 8 non-Prem, so tiny sliver in favour of us drawing a lower league side.
Thomaso Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Hamilton please - I want revenge on those tossers after they luckily scraped past Musselburgh!

WheatfieldWarrior Posted January 18 Posted January 18 we always want a home fixture against rubbish. that's it.,
Jacques de Gauthier Posted January 18 Posted January 18 Celtic away. 0-1 with an 89th minute winner by a returning Hoff.

Will shit myself if this draw comes out, mind you.

Bob Loblaw Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Wouldn't mind Queen's Park at Hampden. Reckon we'd take a decent crowd, the novelty of an away day in Glasgow not involving either of the bigots and a tie we should win.

tcjambo Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Hamilton at home. If we played Ayr I suppose Stone would be unable to play for them.

The Natural Order Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Having been at the Hamilton v Musselburgh game yesterday I'd take Hamilton home or away. It would 100% be an easier game than Brechin was. If that's a Championship Club/Team then Scottish Football has no future. Absolute poster boys of why an 16/18/20 team Premier League should never happen.
Kirky Jambo Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Obviously the easier the better but I’d probably take any lower league opposition, home or away, even Ayr or Livi. If we haven’t improved enough to win that kind of tie by the next round, we don’t have a hope of winning the cup anyway.

The AI hasn't even attempted to guess who the winners of the unplayed ties are, so absolutely no analysis has gone into it. It's just done a random grouping of teams. Edited January 19 by tian447

Yeah but then that would have required more effort so 🤷♂️
Shaggy2 Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Aberdeen v Hibs Rangers v Celtic Hearts v Cove/Airdrie/Livingston/Dunfermline
JamboBoy Posted January 19 Posted January 19 Something keeps telling me it is going to be Ayr United.
