Admin. Would it be easy for you to verify that you are a hearts fan by sending proof via a message and having a little marker to say you have confirmed your a Jambo on your username? Be easy to confirm the vermin?

We do already. It's called being a Paid Member.

Everything else can be faked by saying the right things, or posting a picture of a ticket for a match you or one of your mates went to once.  I'm not sure what sort of proof would be foolproof enough to stand up to this sort of mod scrutiny, and would be one hell of a job for them to sift through it all.

(PS - I have noticed you are not a Paid Member, so that's also where this falls down. Some people can't or don't want to pay for it, and that's totally up to them. I prefer to just let people talk themselves further into the hole that we all know they started digging long ago).

I only found out last week about that. As I wondered how you get the maroon font. 👍 I will definitely look into that. Oh I’m happy to prove to anyone that I’m hearts. A few on here already know that and vice-versa. But I’m always happy to prove it anyway.

Entitled to an opinion and I will give it and certainly not move along just because some nobody on an internet forum says so.  Oh and using the word gadgy indicates that you are indeed one yourself.  Untwist your thong.

Easy now my wee pal your getting carried away.

I appreciate the work they do. I know an avid collector of Hearts memorabilia and it's interesting stuff.

I just think the painted on sign looks a bit naff, and the underlying premise that everything seems to need a 'nod' to the past a bit tiresome.

That's the trouble with a "nod to the past."  Our history and history in general is all part of us.   Without so much is lost and wasted.

It's good to be proud of our past, warts and all, and the real past, not some revisionist version.

How can you learn from your experience without referral to our history?  How can you enjoy reminiscing and celebrating without our history?

Canni believe so many folk are moaning about the cost of this mural, it’s almost like they don’t want to look at the bigger picture.

Looking forward to walking by it later and tutting loudly for all to hear my disdain that it wasn't painted on wood.

Understood.

However, the warm comfort blanket of nostalgia can, at times, become a little stifling.

We should paint some league flags on the glass of our trophy cabinet to represent the ones that were just tossed in a skip by Mercer or Robinson

Still outraged about that.  How utterly disrespectful to the teams that won the honours.

Get that last word, "honours?"

I wonder why they didn’t put it on the gate. However, it looks okay. It’s just a painting. The thing that irks me is the faded signage on the Gorgie Stand.

I don't get the issue. I quite like it, it's nothing special and I agree that it probably would have looked better on a sign but for something that presumably cost a few hundred quid I'm not sure why it's a big deal.

I like the idea in general but I see so many inconsistences in spacing of the letters, particularly in the Midlothian amongst others.

I'm not a sign writer by any means but, on show to the public, must do better..

Scaling is all wrong..

"Park", and "of" are decent efforts compared to the others..

The heart is not symmetrical or should I say, it's squint..

Tin pot effort.

Need to stick up for my fellow sign writers

The guys have done a great job .

As for the spacing on ‘MIDLOTHIAN’

when you have vertical lines close to each other ie ‘MID’ as opposed to ‘LOTH’ they will obviously look closer

but if you look at the bottom right of the ‘L’ for example , it’s just as close to the bottom of the ‘O’

Some shite we moan about eh !
anyway sometimes better saying nowt if you don’t know what you’re talking about

The stand wall looks better with it than without, and if that's all we were allowed to do rather than attach a wooden sign then it's good enough no?

At last ... some sense.

Personally, all I see is a really tricky job undertaken by a genuine expert.

But, as per usual, there are JKB 'experts' who not only know better, but see fit to ridicule that which they couldn't hope to match in a month of sundays.

The arguments about what was done vis-a-vis other options such as doing it on a big board and mounting it elsewhere are moot.

I have no doubt that all options were given due consideration and the one chosen was done knowing all of the facts.

Well done to the signwriter and his team.

I like the way that it changes subtly when moving left to right, or vice-versa.

Earlier on, it was guff about not being centred over the gates, too small, and so on ... and latterly utter pish about 'Big Hearts' posters visible in the windows as if we weren't running a real-life enterprise as opposed to nothing more than seeking an aesthetically pristine entrance for those approaching via the Gorgie end.

In short, absolutely anything to stick the boot in.

There are more than a few grips needing gotten.

😄

We were sent a newspaper cutting from the 1950s showing that the 1896-97 flag was burned because of its state of disrepair.

We really have had some incompetent muppets rattling around our club over the decades . Storing league flags in old hampers with a pile of jerseys ? Absolutely astonishing

Wanted to like it. No criticism of the guys that did it but why was it not painted on a board that was then attached to the stand?? Looks ok from a distance but as you get close to the turnstiles the corrugated stand makes it look pish!
cheap option as per usual!

See if we were to 'paint our flagpole' in this era?

There would be numerous pages on JKB arguing about the shade of maroon, or white.

'Tin-pot', 'Nod to the past', 'Wrong colour', 'looks cr*p'; and so on, and so forth.

Because some Hibs prick would have had it vandalised within about 45 nanoseconds of it being finished if they were able to get up close to it.

That's why it's behind the gate.

Mrs sent me that link, interview with the boy that done the sign... Going to be a workshop for kids soon to show how to paint properly. Didn't realise he's the one that's done everything else around the ground!
