Their previous Euro games have been behind closed doors, in eastern Hungary (not Budapest)

Pretty keen for Brugge date depending. My neighbour is a killie fan who went to both recently & said both are good, Copenhagen more expensive & Brugge the better choice of them both.

Surely it would be absolutely pointless, Flight money, accommodation just to hope some Hungarian bar might have the game on? Pass.

Going to Copenhagen, certainly won’t be like Florence, sunshine and shorts. Still, a place I’ve always wanted to go to.

All booked up for Brugge. Can't wait to get wired into the Gulden Draak.

I was in Baku and Ağstafa recently. Where are Hearts playing? Azerbaijan is lovely.

Right, that’s accommodation booked for both and a flight to Denmark, albeit three hours from Copenhagen.

Trains booking to Bruges tomorrow and I’m set.

Can’t wait!

Daft question, why would anyone be planning a trip to Azerbaijan? The game is behind closed doors

Someone's got to set the fireworks off outside Minsks hotel at 0100.

If its played anywhere near the Nagorno-Karabakh region, we won't need any Hearts fans to set fireworks off

On the flip side, both away trips offer the chance to booze it up in a proper Christmas market!

Copenhagen booked, £300pp flights & accommodation

Posted

Booked Brugge [Ryanair to Charleroi] and Copenhagen [Easyjet]

Both are Monday - Friday from Edinburgh, and got in at £105 return pp....

Off to look at hotels now, wondering whether to have a night or 2 in Brussels prior to moving to Brugge

Posted (edited)

Both direct flights Edin for Bruges

Weds to Friday

£220 😀

Then last minute.com cancelled my reservation and asked me to re book at £368 each 🤦‍♂️

Took my money as well but cancelled the booking - ****ers

Doing Eurostar now. Never done it before so an experience. £340 return for 3 of us. That’s including train to London and back Tuesday to Friday

There's not much in Brussels. Get yourself to Ghent, it's beautiful and every bit as nice as Bruges IMO.

OK, good shout - will look at that as well

Only ever been to the airport in Belgium, picked up and dropped off for work....never actually stayed anywhere there

Posted

Manchester to Brussels Wednesday to Saturday £130 return each for flights. Train direct to Bruges regular from the airport and even more regular if you change in Brussels. Ibis Budget Hotel at Bruges station £65 per night. Pretty reasonable

You can get a coach direct from Charleroi airport to Ghent . Just a short hop from Ghent to Bruges.

I've been a few times and went back in the summer or I'd be going myself. 😀

Top man.....thanks

Can get an Ibis in Ghent for £165 for a twin room with brekkie for 2 nights [may just do 1 - will see]....sounds like a plan, will put it to the other travellers and see what they think...would be cool to see Ghent as well and Brugge then

I have booked through last minute.com but email says can take up to 72 hours to confirm 🥹

Looks like we’re not even playing in Baku but in some place called Sumgayit 😁

It's an outer suburb of Baku.

Baku's a nice place, a mix of old and oil money.  Went to a Qarabag game last year, nice stadium but lucky if the crowd was 1,500.  Would have been a great place for a Hearts game.

You'll wonder why you've never done it before.

Your in the tunnel for 20 mins, if that, cheap as chips.

That's a brilliantly funny retort, and I agree.

I've heard of an open plan kitchen / diner but never that.

Mind you ... there are more than a few trendy hotels who like to place a big tub right in the bedroom.

I've been in three that I can think of ... two of which were über expensive, and one which was the epitome of glitz & glam complete with more mirrors than I'd ever seen.

I dare not post my photos for fear of an instant ban.

Got flights to Copenhagen on KLM via Amsterdam for 168 return, staying Wednesday to Saturday, hotel is 210 total ish each for 2 of us sharing. Booked refundable hotels before the dates were confirmed. It was that or 375 for a standing ticket for oasis, made the right choice!
