Jesus that’s a crap team.

A front three of Vargas, Wilson and Oda. Are you seriously not wanting us to score.

Got to get Kingsley back in for me. Both full back poor today but think that may have been the formation first half. Taylor was all over the shop and polar opposite to last week.

Gordon will definitely play because it's a cup game but he should be reinstated as our No 1 anyway.

Posted

Falkirk will be sh*tting themselves after our performance today.

Posted

Unless Halkett has lost a few pounds and remembered how to play football I'd not have him anywhere near starting. And as for Oda 🙈. In over a year has he actually provided any evidence of being worthy of playing for us? Needs emptied asap

Had a horrible feeling about this game the minute the draw was made. Something about Falkirk away never excites me. After tonight, I'm borderline dreading it.

I expect a reaction and a professional performance to dispatch of a lower league side. The reality is we lose 1-0.

Posted

Seems pretty  unanimous that we want Gordon to start, a back 4 , Boateng and Dhanda to start.

If we play anything like that we did  tonight we are heading for an early exit.

If your as old as me you will remember some absolute spankings thru there! Just as Joe Jordan how he feels about Falkirk 🤣

Lulled Falkirk into thinking we are absolutely shite .

Classic rope a dope tactic…..

This is the one for me 👌 although I'm not fussed whether it's Zander or Gordon. I'd like to see oda get a few more starts, we lack a lot of pace and despite him still being a bit raw he needs some consistent game time and is capable of stretching the opposition.

Many good days back then, too.

Falkirk 1 Hearts 5 in October 1987 was a standout. 0-4 @ HT, iirc.

August-Christmas that season is possibly the best football I've seen Hearts play in my time. A joy at times.

No i want us to first and foremost look like a team that is organised, can carry out the task asked and can most importantly play the way i think secures the win.

Only going with Rowles as not sure if Kingsley is fit

Sorry I like Shankland just want the guy to commit his future to us,this idea we can't play without him is crazy, and he seems the only player that is immune from any sort of criticism, because he scores goals.

What did he offer today might i add?

What did the skipper do when the chips were down?,kicked a ball away like a petulant child, that's some example to be setting.

This team and club is Heart OF Midlothian.

Looks about right. I would like to see Oda getting a run but you know what you’re getting with Forrest.

How are James Wilson or dare i say it Toby Sibbick (one of your all time favourites) more  Heart of Midlothian than Shankland.

You just don’t like a guy who’s scored a crazy amount of goals last season because he hasn’t signed a new contract   Stop pretending it’s anything else and bail your colours to the mast.

No I'm trying to put Hearts first here that's my idea,I genuinely hope Shankland stays and signs a new deal.

You’ve stuck him on the bench in several of your line ups now. When someone challenges you you then claim it’s only because he’ll be effective off the bench.

I think it’s fair to say you’d drop him until he signs a new deal.

He's performing really well for the B team, looks back to fitness and sharp with it.  More likely a place on the bench but he should be there.  I'd have Spittal as the 10, that's where he got the plaudits last season.

Good to hear. From what I’ve seen of the two, I’d prefer Dhanda but I appreciate your opinion.

Aye Spittal as the 10 Dhanda can play wide and drift

No i want the best of both worlds,Shankland can win us games,he doesn't need to start every game to achieve or do this mate,we need to learn how to play without him or we will forever be labelled as a one man team, and we simply are more than just a one man team.

I don't believe all our hopes are on Shankland this season,I have belief and trust other players can take the weight off his shoulders, benefiting us in the long run.

I don't think Spittal has had a fair crack of the whip yet.Certainly agree Dhanda has looked the better player and might be the better as a 10 but he can play wider as well

Ok if I accept he doesn’t need to start EVERY game then find the last time you named him in your preferred starting line up.

There’s little doubt in my mind that Falkirk, after watching us this evening, will fancy their chances if they run hard at us in midfield. We will have given them some encouragement.

Hopefully, our team selection will be for a more aggressive outlook and aiming to impose ourselves strongly from the start.
Almost any of our original selection from today, who are left out now, can have no complaints.

I’m open to changing things and if Spittal ends up being the best option for 10 with Dhanda wide then I’d be happy enough. Dhanda just looks so comfortable there and a constant issue to defences I want to see it more.

Small sample size with Dhanda and Spittal hasn’t had a chance yet so more than willing to see how things progress

I never done a starting lineup for today, but if i did it would of been the same team as last week.

With him just behind Vargas 👍.
