Ked
Nice from the club to officially remember the man. For context he and Macdinald were as responsible for turning this club around as much as the FOH and Ann Budge. Absolutely loved following Hearts during those years. Sandy Jardine rolled along the pitch.

Plus I drew him in a draw a player competition in the match day programme and won a Marshalls chunky chicken champion t shirt two sizes to small for me. merseyjambo
One of the classiest players I’ve seen in a maroon jersey. Probably the biggest influence on the pitch for the development of Craig Levein.

Percival King
Most players are either disregarded or disliked by opposition fans but I always thought Sandy Jardine was neither and was respected by many non-Hearts and Rangers fans. A real class act.

LarrysRightFoot
I remember being at a speakers night and John Grieg told a story of how Jardine said we were interested in him and he wanted to come. Greig said something along the lines of I knew how much Hearts meant to him, as they did to me (Greig) so I couldn’t say no but it was a huge mistake letting him go. PaddysBar
Sandy and Doddie were class acts and completely transformed the club from a genuine laughing stock to near league winners. Great times being a Hearts supporter when those two and the great Waldo were in charge.

martoon
Class defender who's signing in 1982 was a huge part of the rehabilitation of Heart of Midlothian. Younger, and future, generations of Hearts supporters will, hopefully, never experience those pre-1982/83 days. The trio of Wallace, Doddie and Sandy were the catalyst for the Hearts we have now and, possibly, probably, almost certainly are the reason our club didn't disappear back then. The apathy and hopelessness seemed irreversible around 1980-82.

Fort Vallance
Never hid his affection for Rangers. But never for a minute let it affect his professionalism. Just quality. If it hadn't been for his versatility he'd have had a lot more caps. McGrain was decent but couldn't lace his boots.
