You may or may not be familiar with the 15th of August (it's a Roman Catholic thing).  A pal of mine used to refer to it as the Feast of the Unwarranted Assumption.  Might be relevant to this bit of the thread.  :whistling:

Why solely offend Christians?

Because they're generally not very bright.

Being honest, the only religious festivals I have known are Christian

Probably something to do with growing up in Scotland in the 70's/80's.

I still like eating chocolate eggs so Easter is fine with me :whistling:

Every day is a holiday for me. In the middle of the North Atlantic right now. Just cruising along!

5 days…..meh…….with the exception of this weekend where I’m taking my grandkids to flamingo land, Im on 7 days a week until mid October although each day is only 3-4hrs so I’m not sure if that counts as hard work 😁

You'll need that work to pay back how much it's going to cost visiting flamingo land 😔

I took my grandkids to London last year just before Christmas….Hyde park winter wonderland, took in the London eye, dungeon, high speed boat on the Thames and a Jurassic park experience, 3 nights hotel and flights, I could have taken them to Christmas at Disney world Paris cheaper 😳

To think when I was wee,a holiday was a lorry tyre inner tube and a three mile walk to the loch with my pals for it to get punctured😂

If you're not quoting official or expert sources, there is no need to state that it is your opinion. Of course its only your opinion if not stating said sources.

You know, I’ll type whatever I like.

I hope that’s ok with you?

In fact, I don’t really care whether it is, or not.

What part of any religious festival don’t you understand?

Or are you just acting thick?

Leave the wee lad alone, TRM.

He doesn’t need to ‘act’ thick - it comes naturally.

Likewise, except in my case it was Ireland and the 60s/70s.

For most people, the Blessed Feast of St. Santa was (and still is) the big celebration, with the Holy Days of St. Cadbury in second place.  It was only when I got a bit older that I discovered that for true Christian believers it's the other way round.

No doubt the Christians piled their Easter story on top of some ancient pagan lore relating to springtime and lengthening days and all that stuff.  However it came about, it's a nice wee holiday to mark the arrival of longer days and hopefully better weather.

:toasting:
