Happy memories of a very enjoyable tournament!!!

Brought back some great memories of the best year of the Tennents Sixes, and not just because we won!!!

Superb Archie MacPhersonism, after getting it wrong with one of our goals, scored by Craig Levein when he said it was Kenny Black:

"Of course they're very alike, it's just that one is shorter than the other!!!"

Happy memories indeed.

Was that the year it was at Ingliston? Seemed like a massive Hearts crowd and an amazing atmosphere. You watch the masters nowadays and you could hear a pin drop in the place. Doesn't seem to be as competitive either.

1985.

Sponsors were delighted and actually stated that, because of the atmosphere generated by Jambos (and the absence of the OF), they would be back at Ingliston in 1986.

Celtic came back into it and it was off to the SECC for the 86 tourney.

Rangers never played for a few years because they were sponsored by McEwan's.

I remember people dancing in the car park after we had won and wondered what it would be like to win a big trophy if that was how people were behaving for the Sixes.

Boy, was I to find out 13 years later!

Buffalo Bill

I remember staying up late to watch it on TV as an 11 year old. Very exciting and great to see us beat Dundee in a silver strip.

When the Tennents sixes started all the clubs played their actual squads which obviously kept it very competitive and the fans took the tourney semi serious because of that.
