Do you wear one all the time , don’t leave the house without one? I hate having to wear one, I sweat then get cold then the uncomfortable prickly heat starts take it off then have to carry the feckin thing……only if it’s absolutely necessary will I bother with it if I know I’m going outdoors for a while then and only then………get strange looks if it’s pouring mind😆

Just a pastel-coloured John Smedley cashmere, draped over the shoulders for those cooler evenings in the Cote D'Azur?

Thirty years ago before they died, I'm pretty certain my grans wore coats.

Are the men folks in here thinking of flashing macs, surely that was the only justifiable coat!?

If wearing anything, it has to be a denim jaisket!

Coat for me is like a long coat that goes to the thigh. A Jaikit is one that sits at the waist. Imo of course.

I like a jaisket or coat.   Essential part of a gentleman’s attire.

A well dressed gent should have a variety of outer wear to suit any occasion. Too many scruffs that seem to own nothing but a North Face down jacket that gets worn at all times.

I’m guilty of over wearing my Patagonia jacket. It’s so light and yet has kept me warm in temps down to -15 degrees.

Correct, I have a fair selection from smart work coats (summer and winter), blazers, casual lightweight parka, knee length puffer, denim jacket, leather jacket, couple of rain coats and a north face triclimate that stays in the car, i'm pretty much covered no matter the occasion or weather
