Not seen this mentioned on here but was reading Tony Mowbray has had to take temporary leave as Birmingham City gaffer due to illness.

Always thought Mowbray was a class act as a manager  - hope he gets better soon and gets back in the dugout where he belongs.

Good guy 👍

Halways comes across as being very human and likeable. Doesn't take himself too seriously which suggests he has a sense of perspective.

Wish him the very best.

Yes, agree. Always seemed like a decent guy, and their League Cup win was probably more due to him than to John Collins. But I did enjoy participating in the super-extended versions of both the Tony Mowbray songs when we were in Basel. Oh Tony Mowbray, and Mark Venus, Ian Murray's a .............

In what way was he a class act ?

Monkeyheid prick of a man. Don’t wish him any ill will though.

I think he is a decent manager who gets the best out of young players. Comes over well in interviews and is quick to praise others.

His spell at Hibs was a long time ago and I have warmed to him since then. Hope whatever he is getting treated for isnt major and he makes a full recovery,

We were lucky to have such a class side in 05/06 that we were able to put 4 past them on 3 occasions because Mowby’s Hibs side were a very decent side that season. A more “average” Hearts side may have struggled

Always found him pretty humble and respectful, came in for OTT criticism during his Celtic tenure - I thought he had a pretty good football philosophy that built a successful team at ER and had to endure the pain of losing his wife at a horrifically young age.

Heard on a podcast recently that he regularly does the prize-giving at some boys club he is connected to and always turns up with loads of kits for the kids which he buys himself. Dunno if true but pretty classy if it is.

Decent Pro both on and off the field.

Good coach IMO and tries to play good football with his teams.  Had some tough gigs with not so much money available.

Get well soon

No need for what ? Just because I don’t think the guy is a glass act and I’m not expressing faux sympathy it’s tragic patter ? I’ve made it clear I wish no ill of the guy but just because he is ill I won’t change my opinion he is a hibs/Celtic *****. For the serial offender though I wish him a speedy recovery.

He's one of the few Hibs managers that didn't grind my gears.  Hope he has a speedy recovery.

The monkey heed and the reverse were the best chants in those days. Never wish ill on someone I don't know personally and hope he recovers quickly.

Saw Tony Mowbray make its debut for Middlesbrough and his last game before he moved to Celtic. Always a great leader.

It's all just dungeons and dragons at the end of the day mate. Football rivalry is irrelevant in the grand scheme of things.

Speedy recovery Tony
