Not complaining but it seems our cup games get aired quite often on council TV. Not sure if you are being ironic or serious. This is the sixth year of Premier Sports/Viaplay coverage. In the 4th and 5th rounds and the quarter finals, they get first choice of 2 games. In the semis they get exclusive coverage of one game. In all that time, they have only once not used that to cover Rangers and Celtic. That was last year when they picked our derby at Easter Road in preference to Celtic at home to Morton. So basically the BBC take what’s left and they typically go for a biggish club (Hearts, Aberdeen, Hibs) away from home in the hope of getting a “cup shock”. Ok this time they have gone for Motherwell away to Morton (as well as our game) in preference to Hibs away to ICT. But the pattern is pretty clear and it isn’t that the BBC love us! mitch41
I wish I’d be able to forget New Years Day 1981. Hibs were in the 1st Division and we played Airdrie at Tynecastle. My pal and me had a good wee drink before the game and all was good. I decided we should take my pals wee dug, Spud, to the game and Spud got in under the turnstile nay bother. First half we were 2 goals up, spud was running about very happy and our fans were very good buying him a pie & crisps. I even bought spud a football card from the hut at the school end and Spud won a pound. Everything was dandy then it all went downhill in the second half we got beat 2-3. Yes we got relegated that year at that was the worst team ever in Hearts history. Does anyone remember Spud the Cairn Terrier running about the school end that day. I think we only had a crowd of about 8,000 that day. Edited January 30 by mitch41
