the posh bit
I find it pretty spot on during the day. Hopeless at night.
Cade
Lothian buses changed provider and the new one is so shite that they've effectively given up entirely. The trackers at bus stops (and on the app) show the timetables and not live information. So they may as well not bother now.

My understanding is that the trackers in the buses themselves need to be replaced or upgraded to be compatible with the new bus stop displays. That won't be completed until later in Spring or Summer. You may see some routes show real time displays as the upgrade programme progresses.
Victorian
Maybe depends on the route because I find some are still tipping up when the live tracker suggests they are.
JudyJudyJudy
I actually wondered about this as the live trackers at the bus stops are all over the place but the lrt is still fairly spot on .
Tazio
My bus tracker works a treat any time of day. But it isn’t the official one but EdinBus which is a lot simpler but still linked to the bus trackers.

Hmfc1965
My experience is it works outwith the city centre. The new thing they've introduced in the centre just shows the timetable regardless of reality. The tracker on my phone works fine wherever.

kila
EdinBus, the original one, works flawlessly for me. Been using it for many years. Official one is so bloated and tedious to use. Handy for getting the bus stop schedule days in advance but not an easy find. The tracking is terrible now, and the new fancy colour screens at the bus stops won’t show live tracking until later in the year. Useless council, another expensive IT project failure. What we had before was working fine… Edited January 6 by kila

Ray Gin
WTF did they drop showing live updates on the trackers at actual bus stops and deem showing the timetabled times a better option? The timetables are never anywhere close to being accurate.

The timetables are never anywhere close to being accurate. Because they changed provider and got a new app that cannot communicate between the buses and the bus stops.
