Iconic character as Hutch for those of us of a certain age. Though Starsky was always the cool one.

Starsky and Hutch was an iconic programme in the late 70s. 'Don't give up on us baby'.

I must watch it every year at some point, it's been or is being remade.

Always be Hutch from Starsky and Hutch to those of us of a certain vintage.

Did he not have Two UK no1s with Don't give up on us baby, and Pretty Silver lady?

As someone else said was good foil for Harry Callaghan in Magnum Force.

RIP David Soul.

Makes me feel old when you hear about folk dying that I regularly watched as a kid. Starsky & Hutch was awesome in the 70's.

This, not so much . RIP Dave.

Pasquale for King

My first tv hero, met him in Cloisters of all places when he was in something at the Kings about 20 years ago. Was a memorable night.

Hutch was the good-looking one.  Starsky was the cool one.

Nope. Was one of the Four Motorcycle cops who were vigilantes and go after Dirty Harry on a mothballed American aircraft carrier.

I think your getting your films mixed up.

Mary Beth Lacey from Cagney and Lacey was Harry's female partner in the Enforcer.

Not that I'm a Dirty Harry fan😀

Sad to learn of his passing. Like many others, I watched Starsky and Hutch at a young age, and it was an amazing programme of its time. RIP David Soul.

i wish jj was my dad

Loved Starsky and Hutch is a wee laddie. Salem's Lot and WW3 are also ingrained in my memory. Never quite lived up to his 70s potential.

I'm sure I read that the stunt he did in the pilot for the opening credits buggered his back and started him drinking etc.

Tapping bad guys and cleaning up the streets around about the same time as Charles Bronson.
