Clark - 6 - MoM by default due to the saves in the first half. However, marked down a point for his positioning of the wall

Kent - 6 - Probably our best defender but his distribution was ropey in the first half as neither him or Halkett looked comfortable with each other

Cochrane - 6 - Our best midfielder and he didn't even start there. That said, it was an average performance

Halkett - 4 - Looked uncomfortable the whole game and almost sold the jerseys completely. Hindsight suggests starting him was one of many mistakes with the line-up

Rowles - 5 - Fish out of water at left-back and his control and passing were sub-par, to be euphemistic

Atkinson - 5 - Took up good positions as ever and then did nothing when he got it. Outpaced again and had to take a booking

Lowry - 2 - How he lasted 60 minutes or so is beyond me. Total pony

Nieuwenhof - 5 - Tried and showed fight and energy. Ironically, he can claim an undeserved assist at the equaliser

Shankland - 6 - Delightful finish for the equaliser. Otherwise, he was poor

Tagawa - 4 - Had a couple of efforts and tried hard but it wasn't coming off for him. May feel harshly done by being subbed but the subs were better

Denholm - 3 - Ran about a lot. Not sure he touched it that often

Subs:

Forrest - 5 - Should have had a penalty. People can argue all they like about him choosing to go round the keeper but, at the very least, we should try and appeal the booking somehow because that was NEVER a dive.

Oda - 4 - Offered width but for some reason we always chose to go down the left

Kingsley - 4 - Couple of decent crosses. We looked far better balanced with him on

Vargas - 6 - Very good cameo. Brought us back into it and nearly stole it at the end.

Naismith - 2 - 0 for the original selection. Recovered with the subs.

Agree with everything but thought Clark was poor at both goals. Direct free kicks are his kryptonite.

Having to shift Cochrane (MOTM) into midfield showed up the very poor starting set up.

Rowels was subsequently hung out to dry but I thought he did okay.Square pegs in round holes is becoming our thing.Sign some “attacking midfielders” ffs.

I'd mark Tagawa down to a 2 - bad miss, poor movement and failure to hold the ball up.  Should have been hooked after 15 mins.

I thought subbing Denholm was a mistake as it weakened us.

Halkett gets a 3 or 4 to me.  No pace and numerous unforced errors.

Clark 6

Kent 6  Solidish

Halkett 5  Very Rusty looking

Rowles 5 Not really a left back

Cochrane 7 MOTM did the basics better than most

Atkinson 5

Denholm 5  Actually thought he looked quite bright, overran it a couple of times though

Hoff 5 Worked hard, chose wrong options a few times though

Lowry 3  Thinks he has more time than he actually has

Shankland 6 Not a great performance but goals is goals

Tagawa 4  Lots of effort, made good runs that were not spotted, can only be unlucky so many times though

Forrest 6  Energy and drive, should have had a penalty (or goal)

Vargas 6 Took his goal well, won possession back a few times, nearly in at the end

Kingsley 6 Another positive sub

Oda 4 Not much to say

Atkinson 6 some good touches some bad mixed bag

Kent 7 solid as usual

Halkett 4 looks very rusty and needs more confidence, looked injured

Rowles 6 not a left back but coped fine

Cochrane 7.5 just shaded motm for me, always looks for the ball

Hoff 6.5 grew into the game more but started poorly

Denholm 4 poor game ran about a lot but offered nothing

Lowry 4 hopeless

Tagawa 5 not good enoygh

Shankland 6 not his best game but comes up with a cracking finish again

Suba

Forrest 7 excellent when he came on

The Mercer Takeover

Clark - 5 - Couple of really good saves but looked suspect at their goal. Why is Scotland's number one keeper not getting a game

Kent - 7 - Excellent, and even better when Halkett went off

Cochrane - 6 - Did will considering the rediculous positions he was asked to play

Halkett - 3 - Not at the races

Rowles - 5 - WTF is our central defender doing playing at left wing back

Atkinson - 5 - Lots of running and ok

Lowry - 1 - This has to be his last game as he needs returned to Rangers

Nieuwenhof - 5 - Good shift, although no pace whatsoever

Shankland - 6 - Even with his goal he was poor

Tagawa - 1 - Another who has surely played his last game

Denholm - 1 - Hopefully won't see the jersey again. There is a reason he was going to be punted before Naismith

Subs:

Forrest - 1 - Should have scored and must stop diving. Needs moved on

Oda - 3 - So so

Kingsley - 5 - Brought much better balance to the team

Vargas - 4 - Good goal but generally hopeless

Naismith - 0 - Please stop trolling the support with dreadful football teams. The starting lineup was just not good enough, and it didn't have to be.

Two points dropped to County should have seen him sacked, after one of the worst performances of the season. He will no doubt survive though. PLAY OUR BEST TEAM FFS.

punt Lowry back next week. Hes had probably one decent game since here and is never the standard or consistency required.  Tagawa is needing loaned out or something but we don’t think that would help him having not long arrived.

Clark - 7. Couple of good saves in the first half. Need to see the free kick back though, looked like he left a lot of space on the left side of his goal.

Kent - 5. Struggled a bit against their 2 big men.

Halkett - 4. Sloppy. Not match fit yet.

Rowles - 6. Not a left back but coped fairly well.

Atkinson - 5. Always showing for the ball but not much came off for him today.

Cochrane - 7. Always puts in a shift and seems to pop up in half a dozen different positions.

Nieweunhof - 7. My MOTM. Always available for the ball, rarely wasted possession. Much better than our other midfielders today.

Lowry - 3. Not quick or strong enough, poor use of the ball.

Shankland - 7. Good first 20 minutes then fell out of the game but usual bit of quality for the goal.

Tagawa - 4. Should have scored with the ball played in from Cochrane. Worked hard but nothing came off.

Forrest - 6. A significant improvement on Lowry. Should have scored instead of rounding the keeper, regardless of whether it could have been a pen.

Oda - 5. Pacy and worked hard but not a huge amount of end product.

Kingsley - 6. We immediately looked more balanced when he came on. Created a couple of good chances with crosses in.

Vargas - 5. Frustrating. Good goal but spent most of the last 10 minutes fouling their defenders.

he showed for the ball all game, wasted very little and broke up a lot of their moves. He also drove forward a couple of times something we have been sadly lacking in games.

Clark - some very good saves in the match, will need to see goals again before commenting on whether he could have done better. I was behind the free kick and not sure he could have done much.

Atkinson - does my head in, some good, a lot dire.
Rowles - playing well right now and thought he had a solid match. Becoming very good in possession.
Kent - Mr reliable.
Halks - hmmmm. Lots of question marks.
Cochrane - like the look of him in CM. He may well get more game time there.
Hoff - tries hard, does some good things, but maybe just not quite at the level yet  we need.
Denholm - nothing much happening for him, no surprise was subbed.
Lowry - I felt it was a big game for him today and he let himself down. Fans have started to turn on him.
Shanks - another very good goal. Not a lot else.
Tagawa - feel a bit sorry for him. Didnt quite go for him in first half but clealry not fancied much and not getting a lot of game time to find his feet.

Forest, Kingsley, Oda and Vargas all made a difference. Forest is no world beater but makes things happen more than most. Oda involved in the second goal, good goal from Vargas, Kingsley looked dangerous from an attacking perspective.

Naismith - still more questions than answers really. Both in terms of shape and personnel. Clearly injuries are hurting again. A sense of how things are not quite going the way we would like is I have absolutely no idea what the shape or the selection will be on Tuesday.

I thought Ross county played very well today all over the pitch.

Well I apologise whole heartedly for having an opinion and apparently being a complete weapon.
This board is meant to be about opinions and I expressed mine. I also used the word sadly as I like Halkett and defended him often enough in the past when he was a boo boy target on here. I don’t get any feeling he’ll ever get back to full fitness. For whatever reason his returns often end in injury very quickly. This doesn’t make me happy in any way as a fully fit Halkett is a big asset to the team but it doesn’t look likely. I hope I’m wrong.

Pretty good summary.

Lowry is such a frustrating player - he’s got some skills but operates in go slow mode. Why is a loanee youngster who can’t clear the first man taking our corners? They’re consistently awful. Hopefully we end his time at Tynecastle asap.

Tagawa just couldn’t keep hold of the ball. Messed up his big chance in the first half.

i surprised how poorly Halkett played. The pass straight to their attacker in the first half was a lowlight along with his significant part in the free kick for their second.

I did type it as I was walking along the cycle path from Roseburn so couldn’t be arsed writing a long post explaining my opinion. But if you want to talk hyperbole some of the replies I got fitted very much into that category. Worst post of the year on JKB it seems, quite a claim with some of the utter shite on here.

Usually agree with most of your ratings but that is total bollocks.

On bus so will give ratings later for somebody at game.

Clark - was NOT MoM. His stupidity at bye kick + inability to set up a wall or save free kick - hugely reduces score.

Hoff - MoM as nobody else was even average.

Naismith - 1 - for sorting his horror show of a team selection.
