It is, but, it still has a place in the hearts of folk, a bit like Morecambe, both shite holes but both places rammed on a weekend or bank holiday 🤷

I’ve got a pal from Blackpool and she gets properly depressed every time she goes home to visit her family. Even in the 10 years of so she’s been away from it she can see just how far downhill it’s gone. And not just the tourist bits but the actual town itself and where the locals live. Her street where she was brought up has gone from a good solid working class neighbourhood to a place where her dad is stuck in a house that’s too big for him as he’d struggle to sell it.

The town is just tragic now, like Morecambe, the main drag is just about passible but go two streets back and it's a truly depressing site sadly.

I was in Blackpool a few months ago for a meeting. Had a couple of hours to kill so had a walk about and I was genuinely shocked at the nick of the place. I honestly didn't think it was as bad as people said it was until I saw it for myself.

Not a fire after all. Just orange netting blowing in the wind.

Those blaming George W. may like to look at Trump instead.

I was there in September for a mercifully short weekend.

It's as if they're just letting it crumble to see how long it takes to disintegrate on it's own without need of a bulldozer.

Horrible place.

Nucky Thompson

You know what you're getting when you go to Blackpool.

We usually stay in one of the holiday parks on the outskirts and travel in to the pleasure beach etc.

It's full of drunken hens and stags every Weekend though, so best avoiding the pubs

Half of Edinburgh would go there during the sept weekend back in the day, 1983 was my last visit.

TBF all i noticed was pubs and booze back then, never noticed the nick o the place.

:D I generally hate marketing and marketing bods, but sometimes they can deserve a wee nod of appreciation.
