Apparently, they were 'cracking' noises and they happened in Biggar.

 

You just never know nowadays!

Was in the Newcastle (NSW), earthquake 1989. Was working on a ship at the time. Our watchman was killed along with a dozen others. Made a mess of the town..

I was in a hotel room in Japan in 2009 when there was an earthquake at 3am (eternal).

Only lasted 3 or 4 seconds but it was pretty mental. A fair bit of noise.

We get little earth tremors in Ft William (Great Glen fault).  There was one in the middle of the night once that cracked plaster and another that was just like that jolt you get sometimes that you’re falling asleep.  But it’s really really  noisy.  Like a clap of thunder but much deeper and louder.
