The worst ending I’ve ever seen to a film by a long long long way is… Enemy, starring Jake Gyllenhaal I can’t believe anyone on here can possibly beat this. I’ve put it in a spoiler, just in case someone wants to watch it, you will regret it. Spoiler A man sees his doppelgänger on television and sets off throughout the film to find him. He finally finds out where he lives and manages to get into his apartment. He wanders around the rooms and then gets to the bedroom. No doubt some are deliberately left up in the air for a sequel but I think many are because the writers just don't have the ability to close them out.
