JudyJudyJudy
Spoiler Who ? You might ask ? well Long before Serena Williams was a “ trail blazer “ for African Americans in tennis , this woman was real deal . Rose from poverty and in New York to winning the US open then also winning Wimbledon in the 1950s. She also won the French open too . She faced a lot of racism but still manage to win . Incredible story of overcoming adversity and becoming a success . Later in life she lost her monies but a fund was set up which helped her comfortably live the rest of her life in ease . . I watched an excellent documentary about her on my stick the other night . It was very moving . She now has quite rightly been “ re discovered “ and her achievements fully appreciated .
