What the heck does “light hearted” mean?

Does he mean light headed?

Or was it a heart issue as we all suspect?

I'm taking your post in a light hearted way. 👍

Fainted 5 times apparently and only after that 5th time was he sent inside by the coaching team... According to a current player.

Find that hard to believe.

I think your right, he was meaning light headed but as there is always a concern of a heart issue that Naismith mixed them up.

Pleased he is coming back, there is something gutting when a loan player gets their loan period cut shot due to injury, so you are left wondering what could they have done. See Toby Sibbick in his first spell and Ashley Smith-Brown (he played a couple of games then was off, admittedly looking at his career after us suggests probably wouldn't have produced anything for us had he stayed fit.)

Maybe low blood pressure.

Which would be a major concern in a healthy young man.

Maybe it was just Edinburgh's unseasonably hot weather.

You can feel light headed when you bend down to tie your shoe laces. That is temporary low blood pressure and it's pretty common. A player bending down to pick up a ball quite often as a fullback has to do could being closest to the line, might have spells of light headedness. Not wanting to speculate that's the case to be clear here though.

Light hearted - I think he probably meant light headed. Considering what happened to Wilf Slack  a few years back they have to be cautious.

No. Light hearted. Basically he's always in too good a mood.

The hearts squad and coaching staff are a bunch of miserable bast***s so it's a big issue if someone new comes strolling into the dressing room acting all light hearted and happy.

I hope he returns back from Brighton in a stinking awful mood with a scowl on his face ready to play.

I had an incident the other month where I collapsed after my Monday night 5s game. Vision and legs went, and thought it was the end. Heart rate through the roof for a while, even when just sitting in the hospital waiting for various tests.

Turned out to be nothing serious, and was likely just an arrhythmia type event where the heart goes into an irregular pattern for a while before settling.  It was a hot day, and it could have been a mixture of dehydration, low blood sugar, heatstroke, and many other things but nothing conclusive.

I've been exceptionally nervous returning to playing sport, but it's been fine for a couple of weeks now. Hopefully much the same with Offiah, just a dodgy event but nothing long term

ps. not laughing at your spelling of expect.

Maybe he meant “accept”?

If he did mean that. Why not accept him back. After medical clearance of course. I think the boy is a player

I think he meant expect rather than except.

I used the laughing emoji because an hour after he said "don't except (sp) him back" Naismith said he was coming back.

The herald has the right quotes, it seems, as tte light-hearted stuff is the same as yahoo, who I think use an AI bot or something  stating we have a 'Cameron Nieuwenhof' and the game kicks off tomorrow, which is apparently the 16th of October

Here's the herald quote:

“Odel will come back to us next week,” Naismith said. “There were some issues with him feeling light-headed and things like that so we didn’t want to take any risks. Between ourselves and Brighton we have got him to see a specialist to make sure everything is fine and that he can exercise. So he will be back on Monday.

“It was more precautionary than anything else. I think over the last three or four years, it’s been well-documented the amount of players that have had irregularities or that light-headedness. It’s about ticking everything off, making sure every bit is fine. It was more about that than anything else.”

Do we have to offer the coaching and medical staff their jobs back now?  🥸

There were early calls to get rid due to their incompetence over this incident. I think they were ignored. 😄

Ah, ok

That aside, it does seem that the ORIAM is pretty sus; the stats are bad

Seems we need to limit some stuff, like types of movement and the players need instructed to be more vigilant

We don't want these constraints in training, ideally

There was a time when reporters and editors would correct an interviewee's faux pas, or even tidy up their grammar or colloquialisms.

Most reporters/journos today wouldn't know how to spell "colloquialism," or what it meant.

The article is poor but good that it confirms Tagawa's injury isn't serious.
