Lady: polite OR formal way of addressing a woman.

You object to someone having manners and being polite?

Another clueless statement, once again most stuff goes over your empty head.
They call themselves women, THEY OBJECT to being called ladies, go ask your a woman that was born this century.

OK Mr angry, you should get out more and speak to more females. There are lots of them that don't object to being called a lady.

You really struggle to read eh? A female, what a dinosaur and misogynist way of describing someone.

But not lady? And yes, female is a thing, same as male. You carry on being offended though. It's a good laugh.😂

Go on then. Provide us with some examples of ladies being offended by the word ladies. This should be good.😁

I hope this enlightens you, I doubt it obviously but I wont waste anymore of my valuable time on you or the rest of the dinosaurs on this thread.

I've just asked my wife and daughter. They both think you are mental.

Meanwhile, the vast majority of women do not object to being called ladies or female. I work in a female environment and they would tell you where to go if you spouted this nonsense on their behalf.

Almost 20 years in the same job and I must have held a thousand doors open for female colleagues and said the words "ladies first". Not once has any of them ever complained. And the ages range from 18 to 80.

Why don't you use the quote further down that BBC article where current Lionesses say they are completely comfortable with it and i would listen first and foremost to young people involved in the sport rather than old, feminist activists who are fluffing up their roles by creating unecessarily divisive works.

"

• "I wouldn't feel discriminated against by being in a 'ladies' team. Even if I was starting a team from scratch I'd want our gender in the name. If you're doing well you want that recognition of being a women's team." Jordan Butler, 24

• "It's not massively important. You have to separate the teams somehow. In theory, I guess you have like for like - Manchester City men and Manchester City women." Ashlee Hincks, 27

• "I like Lionesses, because it's personal to us. If each team had something more personal - something that suited them - that might be better." Ella Rutherford, 16

line

That message is echoed by Neville Dalton, who runs a women's football blog called Sent Her Forward.

"I've never come across a player or manager who was offended by the use of the word ladies - even if the club styled itself 'women'."

Despite that, he uses the term women.

"I feel it's more appropriate and neutral," he says. "Yet when I speak to managers and officials of both sexes, they invariably refer to their players as 'the ladies'."

But for Carrie Dunn, any gender label is "depressing".

"It's a particularly English thing," she says. "In the United States, the clubs have their own distinctive names."

None of the teams in the US top division - from the Boston Breakers to the Portland Thorns - refer to gender. The only cue is the name of the competition: the National Women's Soccer League.

That, though, may reflect the youth of the American clubs. All 10 were formed in the past decade, while many English clubs are far older.

Arsenal Ladies, for example, chose their name in 1987. And - as Carrie Dunn points out - although language is important, "it's very important to acknowledge the work that men's clubs are doing to support their women's teams".

Watched some of this tonight. When commentator decided to speak English, it was like listening to Rangers TV.

Not a lot in it and hopefully we can beat them in final.

They must be getting paid a decent wedge at your work if some of them were 80 🤣

Can confirm 4th today. A win and Hibs don't beat Glasgow City.

The women really are out on their own right now. Can't really lay a glove on the top 3 but way better than the rest.

Not to dissimilar to the men's situation.

It’s very similar isn’t it?  But with 3 rather than 2 above.  I wonder if we can get closer to Glasgow City?  Having a Cup Final, having beaten Rangers, nailing down 4th makes it a good season.  We took a while to get going, we were behind Hibs etc but Natural Order soon kicked in.  Now need to start getting some silverware.

I do think we will reel in Glasgow City in time. Which although great for our club is a bit of a shame as it means they have finally been outmuscled by the OF.

Easy. 5 to 10 years once the academy kicks more kids out into the women's team will be no contest.

Seems to be quite a common injury in women's game. I read studies being held, led by Arsenal after they had 4 players do this last season, as to why it happens. Hopefully Georgia will fully recover

A good place to be, considering that we only got promoted in 2019 and went semi professional in 2022.
