3 players who have had an impressive first half of the season!!  Could quite easily added 3 or 4 more to the list!. Will be interesting to see the plan for the second half of the season!! Will they as last season move more U18s into the B team while possibly putting some of the older boys out on loan???

Mak Kirk isn't going to learn too much more in the second half of the season in the LL, he probably needs to move out on loan into L1 or Championship if he isn't going to be involved with the first team.

That would then benefit James Wilson who would likely fill the striker role.

So L1 it is for Mak Kirk, Hamilton a good move for him.

James Wilson up front tonight, or Callum Sandilands?

I'd hope that Macaulay Tait and Finlay Pollock get a run out tonight too.

Would hope Wilson or Mack Ross as Sandilands is a midfielder

Didn’t Sandilands play the main striker role a couple of times last season when Kirk was out? In any event, he has a pretty good scoring record in the B team

No he played the 10 role

last season and this season seems to be more orthodox central midfield but yes goal scoring record been very good arriving late in box or shooting from distance

Another option is Murray Thomas being played up front, though not sure if he might be another who goes away on loan.

Celtic taking the piss out the LL once again.

Tranent F.C. v Celtic F.C. (SLFL) on 16/01/2024

Tranent F.C. v Celtic F.C.
Lowland Football League
Tue 16-Jan-2024
KO 19:45

This match has been postponed. Reason: Premiership break - player availability

Thank you for taking note.

If a LL club is intent on postponing fixtures to suit their parent club's scheduling arrangements, then they shouldn't be anywhere near the league.

The LL should just award a 3-0 win and the 3 points to Tranent.

Total disregard for the Competition. Like they used to get premiership games postponed, so they could play a friendly at the start of the season.

So basically the players are getting time off. As all the Premiership first team squads are. Celtic aren't going abroad.

Comes off as very cheeky considering the B-teams are there by invitation.

Agree re awarding a 3-0 win.

Totally agree with the sentiment and criticism of Celtic but awarding the points to Tranent punishes the teams competing with Tranent.

The ironic thing is that Celtic B has a game tonight. Obviously trying to align themselves with the first team, but creating a mid season break for their team in the LL.

I wonder how the SPFL L1 or L2 sides would've reacted in the event of Celtic B being in the SPFL and seeking such a postponement.  They should have been told to bolt.

Their goalkeeper is decent but anyone struggles to stop a tap in.   It was a couple of good moves.    I was joking as well.   Edinburgh are mince.

3-0 deflected shot from Gordon which deceived the keeper.

Lucky for Uni that Kirk isn't playing..... he could have reached 30 league goals for the season in the first 10 minutes then "retired" 😁

Would say he is, has been on the bench this season.

He's decent for a RB.   For his age.   I don't want to put the spooks on it.   He made the senior bench in the league cup semi-final if I remember right.

I wouldn't mind seeing him have a go in the first team but he'd have to be outstanding to go straight in without a loan.   Although Tait and Wilson have had gametime already.

Penalty, Wilson 8-0.  Keeper unlucky not to save it, he got two hands on it.   Bottom left corner.
