Based on the Open Goal Broomhill thread, more than you would think.

I've not listened as I don't care. I am assuming it is someone else who "can't believe" we've sacked Neilson.

Same old rubbish, first 30 mins about the old firm game when 2 say they only watched the highlights, then the usual have a go at the fans, done the same with Aberdeen when "del boy" left, absolute slavers,

Used to but they’re collectively clueless about life outside ‘sellick’ and it doesn’t offer anything beyond that. His initial interviews of folk across the Scottish footballing spectrum where great and a really good and interesting listen (in hindsight due to the guest 😂

Disappointing it’s become another OF fanzine.

Used to listen, but to be honest it is embarrassing listening to the drivel they spout so had to delete

Two weeks on the trot big Kevin spouting...." what more do the Hearts supporters want "...suggesting we should put up and shut up cause finishing third is the best its gonna get.....jeez, how can a former player be so out of touch with the situation.

I loved the big man when he played for us, I'm also quite sure he'd have something to say in that current dressing room if he was a player at this time, get yourself along to Tynecastle Kevin, sit for 90 minutes week in week out, then you can go on the podcast and make some informed comments.

Patter on it is shite. Only so many jokes about “Slaney”s dad being a pervert before it gets old, among other things.

People still listening to it religiously week in week out just to moan about how crap they think it is…

I take it, it's the usual "mind your place", " how dare you have ambition"  and "back in your box" Hearts fans.

Usually they speak an element of sense, Kyle in particular as he is sometimes at the games but they seem to be way off on Hearts at the moment. They all seem to think Neilson had an element of credit in the bank.

Ferry touched on the Dundee Utd game he went to watch where again the first half was chronic viewing and the performance and tactics were quite rightly boo’ed at the half time whistle.

Nothing has changed or improved since then.

It’s the right decision.

The thing is, all those people berating Hearts for parting company with RN actually have no idea about what has been happening behind the scenes.  I don't either BTW, but folk inside the club do know and they clearly came to the decision that it had gone beyond Robbie being able to retrieve it.  It was surely obvious to anyone who has watched Hearts over the past few weeks that something was seriously awry.  Did we hear the same patter when Goodwin was punted?

If folk don't know the whole story, they should just keep quiet.

Goodwin had no credit or history with the club and they were 7th.

The Goodwin situation is in not comparable.

They'd also lost 1-0 to Darvel,  and 5-0 and 6-0 in a short time.

Whether or not letting  Bob go was a good decision- time will tell, but Goodwin and and Aberdeen are not comparable.

Ach, I've had the same from a couple of mates.  You need to have been watching us the last few games to see whatever is wrong is deeper than just results.

The last few games have reminded me of the darker Levein games.  Lose early goal, game over.  Oh, we've started OK here... make no chances... lose a goal, game over.

Not at all. His opinion on any topic is neither here nor there, and I certainly didn't link any opinion he had to anything. Hence, you've mis-understood me.

For me, he came across as being a bit incoherent, losing the thread of whatever point it was he was trying to make, and unsure of basic facts (e.g. stumbling over the name of our sporting director).

Perhaps he's just not very good at doing that particular kind of thing. Or, as I did write (note the question mark), "No laughing matter, but too many headed balls"?

My other point was merely astonishment should any of them be getting payed for that gig.

After all, beteeen the four of them it was all but unlistenable, and came over as amateurish, low-grade stuff with them even making the basic error of talking over each other thus making much of it unintelligible.

Oh, look! 👇 Another weird take. 😉

The podcast will go the same way as Broomhill if their not careful.

I don’t like Kenny Miller but I’m surprised he and even James McFadden associate themselves with this.

It seems like folks of Kenny Miller's ilk will never miss an opportunity to appear relevant.

It strikes me as being like the has-been T.V. actor who'll turn up to the opening of a new public convenience for a few bob and a photoshoot.

I tried to watch, but getting past the chocolate eating anecdote and the dreadful golf patter at the start was too much for me.

Kyle clearly doesn’t follow Hearts and that is obvious every time he’s asked about us.

Stevo is the pundir who will correct the record in the end so will be watching for his take.

The best explanation. Celtic are 12 clear now. What would they do if Postecoglu lost 6 games out of 7 and Rangers overtook them?

Hearts were miles clear in 3rd. It’s been a complete implosion in the dressing room. The only option to try to stop us crashing to 6th was to roll the dice on a radical change

I honestly reckon most of these guys in the press are sad we sacked Neilson because would’ve just quite enjoyed seeing us continue to implode all the way to 6th. They’re mad we’ve done something radical to try to halt our collapse

Indeed, but the happy clappies said we didn't like him - anyone who was in Malta and the return leg should have been saying much nicer things about him.

BBC have been exactly the same the last 2 nights. Michael Stewart, when not saying would of and could of, was moaning about sacking Neilson when we're high up the table (Monday night podcast). Last night Willie Miller and some journalist were saying that, too. This was in between Miller getting the recruitment process explained to him by McLaughlin and Chic Young (both of whom actually stuck up for Hearts).

It was easy to hear why Miller has failed to sell deep fried food in Scotland. A bigger idiot you are unlikely to meet.

Do none of these experts venture across the M8?

I've defended the Open Goal podcast on here in the past, including very recent past, but I think I'm pretty much done with it now. The focus on Celtic and Rangers has got worse, and in the past it felt like they at least made a bit of effort to keep up with other teams but absolutely none now. The number of times they've not seen even highlights is ridiculous if you're running a podcast on Scottish football.

Specifically on Kevin Kyle, sometimes he's OK on it and other times he's absolutely atrocious. This falls under the atrocious category. They treat him like the resident Hearts expert and compared to the others he probably is but compared to those of us turning up every week he knows the square root of **** all and falls into the trotted out Scottish media lines that this is fan power gone mad. That despite McKinlay setting out exactly why the decision was made and fan feeling was one consideration but absolutely not the only or even significant.

The Neilson credit in the bank mob are people who don't watch/attend games.

I think I've seen pretty much every game we've played this season and I can count on one hand the amount of times we've played well in it. We only play well in fits and starts too.

I can't recall any game this season where we've been excellent for 90 mins.

Correct decision was made.

I have said similar we have scored so beautiful goals this season but even in those games we have hardly played well throughout a wee 10 minute burst here and there but that about it.Best we played was one whole half in Europe but even then we didn't score.

Open goal is one of the worst podcasts going, it’s utterly brutal, a five year old could deliver better content. Thick as mince the lot of them, going to be critical of the fans Kyle do your research, the football on offer this season has been terrible…

I could count on one hand the amount of games I've seen where either team were "excellent" for 90 minutes. I don't disagree with the decision to look for a new manager but no team ever dominates a game for the full whack.

The expectation we will ever be excellent for 90 minutes is an extremely odd one.
