Kicked Into The Long Grass

So many contentious issues are kicked into the long grass in the hope they are long forgotten and/or the guilty party have made their exit. Whether the issues are small, medium or large it seems time is the great concealer.
Examples off the top of my head
The BBC climbdown following their suspension of Lineker booted into posterity with a review of social media guidelines
Partygate ongoing since Dec 2021
Dominic Raab bullying inquiry started Nov 2022
Grenfell Fire  happened June 2017
Elon Musk twitter poll on standing down as CEO Dec 2022
Rishi Sunak promises to release his tax started Apr 2022
Richard Sharpe BBC Chairman appointment  investigation Jan 2023
Was the Zahawi corruption investigation all dropped once he resigned? Jan 2023
Boris Johnson's secret meeting/ security breaches with Lebvedevs whilst Foreign Secretary July 2022
I'm sure folks can think of others

TBF some of them are overhyped storm in a teacup type stuff...

- BBC's problem is weak leadership and a failure to recognise that presenters, particularly ones who are supposedly contractors and not even employees are not subject to the same rules. I'm a contractor and not shy or roaring back at co-workers as I'm not subject to HR rules and they can ask me to not come back if they want, but in the meantime they pay me more whilst they do want me there...

- Partygate is a sweep sweep as Boris is gone

- Raab is only relevant if he was to go for the big job

- Grenfell is ticking along, but I still find it amazing that the Fire Brigade ever advised staying in a burning building...

- Musk can do what he likes as he owns it.

- Sunak's tax returns are actually private between him and HMRC. I wouldn't expect to be asked to show mine...

- Sharpe is dodgy but too low profile to matter

- Zahawi is dodgy as his fine proved. Not fit to return to politics in any way.

- Boris was dodgy as, and has been shown to be in many ways. I don't think he's criminal just an utter fool who doesn't care about rules.
