Big fan of Neilson and what he's done here but his persistence with 3 at the back is extremely frustrating. Everyone, maybe except Snodgrass, was completely off it today but we seemed much better when we switched to 4 at the back. Atkinson tucked in to midfield when we had the ball which then allowed Grant to get forward, with Snodgrass and Atkinson in the middle. McKay in the slightly deeper wide role also allowed him to come into the game more. He is a waste further up the pitch. He simply doesn't have the physical attributes to go man to man with central defenders, much better picking the ball up deeper and running at them. Shankland as well needs to be right up top. HIs linking play is good but it is so frustrating seeing such a clinical goal scorer drop into midfield time and time again. Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
