Unused Kiosk Main Stand

Will the club actually ever make use of the kiosk's on the left hand side as you walk in near section n? Think i’ve seen them opened once or twice at the start but not since what’s the point of them? may aswell make it toilets or even a small hospitality room. Also does my box in when the kiosks run out of hot food, I went at half time and could only get crisps or chocolate in the main stand. How do we not prepare better for our big events, won’t bother some but it’s a loss of revenue for the club.

Was it not originally a Heineken 0% bar?

Nope, only time i've seen it open was when they tried bacon rolls etc for a midday ko a couple of times, now just seems to be a storeroom (with thousands of pounds worth of catering equipment sitting unused)

I don’t think so. The problem with that kiosk is if folk are queuing then it blocks that end of the stand. It was opened once and that’s what happened. Total design flaw.

Should make it cash only.

Why?

I like using cash , filling my bank account with small transactions, dont like carrying  cards to games, faffing about with pin numbers, dont use non pin method,

And having a bank card on my phone, no danger, not secure imho.

Cash only slows everything right down, especially now that you can pay for everything with a tap of your card, phone, watch or loads of other devices.  No more faffing around trying to find 20p to make up the total.

If 50 people in the queue spend an extra 20 seconds fiddling with coins and waiting for their change, it adds nearly 17 minutes of delay for nothing.

There should definitely be a cash option. Cash is king again at present.

you lose the card then theres a possibility of someone else tapping your card , until you inform bank .

Everyone in such a hurry these days.

Then use your phone or watch instead, much less chance of losing those.  I don't see how losing your card is any higher risk than losing a wallet full of cash since they are both usually kept in the same place. If you lose your wallet, there's a possibility of someone taking everything that is in it compared to one card which can quickly be cancelled.

I'm not always in a hurry, but at half time when you have a 15 minute break to get in and out without missing what you actually came for, changing things to cash only does not make sense, especially when there are hundreds of people around.

They should have a cash only queue on one of the kiosks, but the rest should be card only to facilitate getting people turned around as quickly as possible.

Have a cash only kiosk then, but contactless is faster and easier to use. Haven't used cash for anything other than a haircut in about 5 years.

Aye, a cash only bit probably makes sense. Pretty sure they used to have it split up by that. I'll be honest I haven't used the kiosks in ages though. Maybe a cash only queue. Can guarantee someone would get right up recieving their food and saying they don't have cash whith them 😀 Have seen folk at Lidl self service scan a full basket then ask if they can use cash.

And if you lose the cash, it's a certainty it's gone unless a good soul sees you drop it.

It’s not so easy to gauge how much food you will sell as a vendor. (I owned and operated an outdoor catering stall at summer events for 7 years).  There is nothing worse than throwing food away that you cannot recycle/reuse also, take into account the very small window for selling i.e. a little bit before the game, a trickle through out the game and, a mad rush at half time with nothing after the final whistle.  If I was selling hot food to serve on my own I’d likely not have any more than 150-200 servings….if I had help/staff I’d likely up this by 100 - 150 servings and, if I run out then I’d view the days sales as successful walking away with £1k ish.  The non hot food, crisps, chocolate bars, cold drinks etc are a decent back up as they require no preparation and can be stored & used again and, it’s highly likely that someone waiting in the queue will buy somthing.

Probably wasn’t viable for them.  As a specialist kind of food they’d be looking to be at an event all day to make a decent profit.

I used to sell large pulled pork rolls slow cooked with a smoked paprika and brown sugar rub.  Large baked potatoes with homemade beef & veggy chilli, stovies and corned beef hash.  The whole set up took days of prep and was highly commented on as the best food at many outdoor events I attended but, parked next to me would be a massive burger van (usually weegie run) with 5 + staff all pushing out cheap fresh.

Thankfully jis colleague was more switched he'd on, heard me and have me a non burnt one off another tray. If I'm paying top dollar prices I expect it to be edible 🤣😜😜

I’m not saying get rid of contactless but there definitely should be a cash kiosk/option.

It’s widely publicised people are using cash more again.

I have revolutionary idea for a avoiding queues at drink and food outlets at football (and elsewhere)

Try going 2 hours without eating or drinking.

Yeah.  A real eye opener was St Johnstone fans singing "this is a library" during their recent visit to Tynecastle.

Embarrassing

I had my first ever donner pizza in Livingston after the St Johnstone match. To be fair it was great, though I had been in hospitality all afternoon.

Awaiting the inevitable chest pains.

I’m here…..whilst not entirely old school (or so I think 😏), I like a wad of cash when abroad.  Off to Malaga next week and bought a wad of euros which should do me.  I’ll withdraw 10eu at the airport when I arrive just to make sure the ATMs work.  As a side, can anyone guess the daily rate of this place:

Private house with private pool:
