£7.14 million

The blue kit wasn't even an official Argentina kit. It was picked from a sports shop in Mexico and the kitman applied the badges (old design) himself. The shirt numbers were a batch designed for American football tops.

A Mexican Sunday league  football team could have been kicking about in the same kit. Pretty similar to when Hibs were sporting their Nike efforts! 😄

Thought this was H1b5 reported losses for the year.

That will probably be what the unreported losses will be.

You're spot on.  If there reported attendances are anything to go by, they'll be fibbing about their losses too.

I thought that was an opening bid for Porto.

I do not think in his dreams he would ever end up selling that shirt for £7 mil how lucky was he to be playing up against Maradona and get a shirt swop! Rest of that team must be boaking 🤣

Seemingly the shirt swap was an after thought and took place in the players tunnel.

I wonder how much a H1b5 fan might pay for the infamous, Frank Sauzee, broken (Argos) decanter.

I saw the clip you are on about but the story has been told a few times before. 👍

The guys from CFS quoted some prices to expect for certain classic tops. I have the West Germany 1990 one so will need to dig it out to raise some funds! 😄

It's an incredible sum of money for a football shirt. You have to be at least 40 to remember Maradona in his prime so you wonder how much value this will retain as time goes on and there are fewer and fewer people around who actually remember Maradona. Then again, when you see the sums being spent on NFTs and crypto perhaps £7.14 million is a bargain for what is unquestionably an iconic football top!
