There was a possibility that if Villareal won the Champions league, the winner of the Premiership would no longer go automatically into the group stage of the Champions League. However with Russian clubs confirmed to be still banned from Europe next season by Uefa yesterday it meant this is no longer the case. So the winner of the Premiership will automatically go into the champions league group stage.

Leaving aside Liverpool and the club which has been pretty gracious under Klopp and its current ownership, it's a big snub to the Super League clubs who would prefer not to be playing likes of Villarreal.

As a neutral, 2-0 at half time for Villareal is the ideal result.

 

Both of them need to go for it, and both of them can't afford to lose it.  Nervy stuff.  Liverpool should be able to step up a gear and score at least a goal.
