jamboinglasgow
Has there been any mention about the Presentation/Q&A when it will happen? We advised on Tuesday that we would confirm the AGM arrangements post the First Ministers announcement. The rapid spread of the Omicron variant is concerning and the wellbeing of our shareholders and staff must be our first priority. Today, the First Minister has asked that we all reduce as far as possible the mixing of people from different households. We have, therefore, made the difficult decision to deal only with formal business at the AGM on Thursday. The formal business should take no more than 10 – 15 minutes and we will relocate the meeting from the Gorgie Suite to the Main Stand. This will help to reduce the mixing of people from different households in line with the First Minister’s request but, importantly, still allow Shareholders who have not exercised a proxy vote (and for those that have been issued a proxy by others to vote on their behalf) to vote, in a location that allows for plenty of ventilation and the ability to socially distance. The presentation and Q&A element of the AGM will be held before the end of January, in person if restrictions allow or virtually depending on the COVID situation at that time. The rapid onset and spread of the variant means we have been unable to put in place a virtual solution that would allow the interactivity we know is an important part of the meeting in time for Thursday. We will be working on the best technical solution for this as a matter of urgency, however the preference will be to hold this meeting in person before the end of January - if it is safe to do so. Registration will be via South Turnstiles 27 - 36 in the Main Stand. We would request that unless you are medically exempt you also wear a mask at all times while inside the Stadium to protect yourself and those around you. As per the First Minister’s announcement we encourage all who attend the AGM to take a lateral flow test that morning to protect them and all others who attend. This decision was not taken lightly and we very much look forward to sharing the presentations and having an open dialogue with shareholders in January. We appreciate your understanding and hope you and your families stay safe. Any idea when the Q&A session will happen?

The delay in scheduling these sessions gives the impression that neither the club nor FOH thinks that there is any immediate need for their Boards' decisions, actions, or accounts to be scrutinised by the shareholders/members. Given that the shareholders/members were denied a similar opportunity at the previous AGM, you would think that it would be a priority in terms of openness and transparency. I am quite surprised they have not organised anything considering when they announced the Q&A would not happen at the AGM, they really stressed how they want that to go ahead as soon as possible and that it would be done before the end of January if restrictions were lifted in time. Agree with you it is not a good look for the club and board of directors, when they are not having a session where they can be held accountable by shareholders, especially as you say previous AGMs have not been able to have that due to Covid. The Q&A and presentation is also enjoyable to see insight into more long term plans with the club (especially off the pitch.) I hope the club do address this and arrange a new Q&A. Club plan to do something to recognise this Happy to keep old firm at reduced ticket levels next season as long as Hearts fans keep buying tickets 7 years left on lease at Oriam Was very impressed by McKinlay today. Seemed to have his finger on the pulse and answered most of the questions without hesitation. Certainly what you would expect from a CEO on top of his game.
