Bazzas right boot
This is the big difference for me and why I think we'll finnish 3rd now. Apart from the OF we Seem to have the most intelligent and quick thinking group of players in the league. McKay, even if not having an influence has a speed of thought above most others on the pitch. His first touch often takes the defender out of the game. Souttar, Beni, Woodburn are all intelligent players with quick minds, Woodburn despite calls to be dropped by some again is a level above with his decision making. Even our subs, GMS won the ball, pivoted and played a through ball without hesitation. McEneff, took a poor touch of sorts but just realised a dink was the way to go. Cochrane and Kingsley also show awareness that makes a difference. Even guys like Smith and Boyce have a calmness that means the make ( or try) to make the correct decisions, Boyce does this a lot when winning fouls, including penalties. He just knows when to take the touch so the foul is certain. Moore also looks assured. This is the big difference for me, we have players who think like footballers so make the basics look so easy and make the correct decision more often than not Only Gino and Gnando in general are the direct sorts who can just charge and be direct ( not a bad thing but can be frustrating). Even Gino showed great awareness for the cross yesterday! We have a team of intelligent footballers. How long may it continue.
Spellczech
A player who does a quick pass and has an awareness of where other players are, both teammates and opposition, is a different type to a player who is "clever" about winning fouls and thus breaking up the fluency of play. The first is good when you dominate possession, the second is for when the other team has the lion's share of possession.
