Two stories on my Facebook today (from reputable news sources, so I believe)..

People in India, covering themselves in cow shit to ward off corona virus.

Americans filling plastic bags with petrol and taking it home in the boots of their cars.

Darwin Awards got some tough decisions to make this year!

If we were to post a list of all the stupid things people do and believe, we would overload the JKB server.

Folk chopping down mobile phone rely towers because infectious viruses are transmitted through 5G signals like teleporters in Star Trek.

I should've added a "No Politics Caveat" in the OP..

My bad...

Suely the thread to get things off your chest, 1 or 2 things at a time..

Keeps the conversation going...

Other than my OP, I am absolutely baffled by trophy hunting. This could probably cross over with the seethe thread but the very idea that if you have enough money you can go to Africa (actually even scotland now) and kill an animal that's just minding its own business because you think you're an amazing big brave hunter who is a super shot with [insert preferred weapon here]...

Yes an elephant is massively huge but you were sitting in your new York suburb last week it was doing you no harm yet you've decided to kill it. .

As the cow is sacred in India I can only think they'll believe themselves immune from illness by doing this. Gotta love religion eh?

Was about to post similar. Spent close to a year over there in my early 20’s. Cows wandering about all over the place, beaches, streets, gardens. It’s like bikes in Amsterdam. Cows have right of way.

I saw that. Can't find the link, but the American woman filling her carrier bag was funny as feck. Not enough facepalms to describe that one.

For all humanities ills, fails and injustices, we can still invent the tech for Hubble to capture this breathtaking image of the Carina Nebula.

Ooft. Reminds me of my flatmate at uni. I discovered one day that he was driving around with one of those plastic petrol cans with petrol inside it in case he ran out of fuel! Took a little while to convince him that the idea is that you carry the empty can around in case you have to walk to a petrol station to get fuel because you've run out...

Yeah I have deleted majority of the people on mine and pages I followed don’t know if it’s because I’m getting older but just full of negativity and advertising it’s just a waste of time . I keep it for a few groups on and if my Mrs tags me in things but don’t use it myself or comment on pages.

I reckon they’re having too much fun. Imagine sitting there on a Saturday night with the family tuning in to see what arsehole things the humans have done this week.

Probably right. These guys have unlocked the secrets of the universe, meanwhile we have someone putting petrol into a plastic bag that has holes in it 😂

Went out walking in Oxford last night, which is about 20 miles away. Pubs all absolutely rocking in the outside seated areas with social distancing being a rarely taken up optional extra. Also a steady stream of students in tightly packed queues in out the supermarkets buying copious amounts of booze. Generally behaving like the pandemic’s all over.

i also went for a walk along the Thames with loads of teams of rowers training, with their Coxes, miked up and barking instructions. What they also had were instructors on push bikes racing along the riverside path at high speed, also barking instructions, looking sideways  at the boats and not where they were going. If you happened to be walking, as I was, it was a seriously lethal health hazard. If they already have Coxes barking instructions, why the **** bother with riverside instructors too?

Was in Swindon earlier same day which was as depressing as usual. I work there but have hardly visited since the pandemic as permanently home based since.  Half the shops are closed down  and Loads of mutants in shops not wearing masks and shouting at their kids. The place is goIng down the lavvy pan.
