jamboinglasgow
There is a good interview with ex-Man U, West Ham and QPR player Ravel Morrison on Rio Ferdinand's podcast. There is something fascinating about players who have incredible talent but waste it due to their external factors to their football. Ravel is very open in the podcast about where it went wrong though he is quite humble about what his talent. Rio texted Sir Alex Ferguson before it to get his thoughts on Ravel and its just glowing praise and talks about what an amazing player he could have been. Rio talking about how all the Man Utd players in the changing room after training talked how they couldn't wait to see Ravel play. Players like him are always a great "what if..." Also found it very interesting his story about Allardyce at West Ham. He had got into the West Ham team and doing well when suddenly the club said they are offering him a new contract, Ravel with 2 years left on his contract already was not really looking for a new contract. Allardyce calls him into his office, says that they want him to sign the contract but only if he changes his agent to Allardyces agent. Ravel refuses, then soon after the contract is removed and he is sent on loan to QPR. I know this story has been said before but still amazing the stories of British managers of a certain generation and what is alleged they have done like that. Locky
Didn't realise he was 28 already. One of those players who despite me feeling like he's been around for donkeys, I still think of him as being young enough to make a career if he screws the nut. Some CV he has, but unfortunately he hasn't played a lot of football. Probably made a lot of money though. Still, playing and living in Mexico, Sweden, Italy and Holland, as well as playing with some top players, is a hell of a lot more than any of us have probably done!
