Yeah that guy Skacel was murder eh 🤔🤷🏾‍♂️🙈?!?!

Never liked him since he stopped trying in 2005 ... 😝.  Nah, fair play, I'd split it between Zal and Rudi.

Never realised how under rated Webster was before reading this. Probably something to do with the way he left the first time. But he’s been the best centre half we’ve had in the last 30 years. Probably since Levein. I get the sentiment with Zal, I really do. But he couldn’t lace Webbys left boot.

Totally agree, Zal wouldn't get in my 2010 - 2019 XI, the CB pairing would be Webster and Berra. McLaughlin broke the clean sheet record for the entire history of the club. Michael Smith and Callum Paterson would have a helluva fight for my RB slot. Weird to say about a right back but I'd probably opt for Paterson for his goal threat. LB is a toss up between Grainger and Eckersley but the cup final penalty would probably edge it for Grainger.

Midfield would be Ian Black, Djoum and Skacel with Driver and Nicholson supplying a fit Steven Naismith (tough to leave Beattie and Lafferty out).

My top 3 as per the thread would be in position order...

McLaughlin

Webster

Naismith

😂 that’s a fair point.

I would 100% have Perreira based on how bad he was and the repercussions that came with it. Probably Ngoo for the league cup final and possibly Malaury Martin for how much he cost us over his whole contract.

What no Steve Maclean? 🤔

Bobby for last years final?

Agreed poppadom hands is the worst ever in the last decade for me

that line up could make me greet. What a horrific line up. I dread to think what that collective lot cost our club. Jesus wept absolutely brutal .

subs bench would include a good few others as well

narrowing it down to two strikers was bloody difficult

Indeed, strikers might not be the word I would use 😜

It took me long enough to narrow it down. The subs would push me over the edge and I don’t have time to do it. Far more useless ***** than successes unfortunately.

Skacel is the obvious choice for first place

Zaliukas for being a cup winning Captain in second spot.

I would say Zeefuik would be the third choice. His goals to games ratio was something else, and his cult hero status from that season make him into the top 3 for me.

If we broaden this from Hearts then my top 3 really picks itself and doesn't brook any debate.  Stokesy, Broonie and the Thumb.  Not just great players but widely respected, thorough. gentlemen.

Rudi

Webster

Stevenson

Stevenson really became a leader and mature figure to look up to for the young lads in 2013 onwards. He rallied them to give their best.  I also thought he was another shrewd JJ signing initially after Csaba’s downturn season.

Rudi and Webster speak for themselves.

I think I would have Sammon over Maclean mainly because of the money he was paid.

Bobby is a strange one as he started well and was quite a likeable character. Just never recovered mentally from his first mistake and became a liability. Agreed he let Celtic back in it though.

Walker ( in his first spell here).

And a mention for Driver and Templeton.

Had we won at Annfield I think Temps would still be on free pints in Gorgie. What a celebration that was !

That is a scary team. It’s a shame about Hughes as he offered something initially however that game against Livingston was shocking and he just shipped goals every time after that.

Having a look on londonhearts and the  player with the most appearances this decade is Jamie Walker followed by Paterson.

I’d also imagine that Walker is the highest scorer during that time as well.

It’s Paterson.

Rudi Zal Stevenson for me if we’re talking about players who contributed the most or played the best over the longest period of time during the decade. Paterson a close 4th.

Honourable mentions go to Gomis, Lafferty, M Smith, Sow, Djoum and Webster.

Rudi (the best I've seen in a hearts shirt this decade and probably last decade too without a doubt)

Lafferty ( Scored around 20 goals in 1 season, Nobody apart from Rudi has scored near that in the last decade, hopefully boyce does this season.)

Berra (For that first 18 months after coming back to us, he was immense, deserved a better team around him.)

Honorable mentions go to

C patterson (very good player who has gone on to play in Epl since)

M Zaliukas (ex cup winning captain and leader)

A djoum (a bit of a contoversial one but i always thought he was decent.)

J Walker ( has scored 47 goals for us so deserves at least a mention)
