If it hadn't been for fall out with Vlad Webster 2006 is a certainty to exclusion of most likely Zaliukas. Or alternatively Robbie at RB and Weir and Pressley (who were better than decent as an international pairing) at CH Black for his performance ahead of Salvatori another potential. For all the glory of 1998, if it wasn’t for Cameron’s injury I’m sure we’d have won the league. Similarly, if it wasn’t for our Glorious Leader’s determination to sabotage a good thing I think we’d have won that one as well. The Old Squirm were far stronger in 1998 imho. I'm going for a team that would utterly smash Hibs in the Semi-Final, full of players who were used to beating them at every opportunity. I'd have to go for something like: Gordon Neilson - Webster - Zaliukas (C) - Fyssas Aguiar - Brellier - Hartley Skacel Bednar - Pospisil Subs: Rousset, Weir, Grainger, Mikoliunas, Beattie Manager: JJ ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Captain Zal, because out of all the team captains we've had in recent years, he is the one it looked like it meant the most to. Not technically the best option there, but a hardworking and solid defender nonethless. His sheer emotion at winning the cup in 2012 gets him both a place in the squad, and the armband. Webster is the definition of the term "strolling it", and having someone like that next to Zal is probably for the best! Neilson and Fyssas are pretty self explanatory. Midfield might be a bit limited in terms of pace, but Aguiar and Hartley can deliver creativity into the team, and Brellier is... well, Brellier You need someone who gives other teams a wee bit of fear. Skacel obviously just doing whatever, floating where he needs to be, and an up front pairing of Bednar and Pospisil would work nicely.
