Hearts 1-0 Auchinleck Talbot January 2012......scraped it but it was one small step on the way to one of the greatest events in our history. Tonight is similar hopefully (although not as historic) as we head towards a promotion back to the top league.

Pant wetters - it's passed your bedtime.

That'll be like most teams this year.

Way too early to judge us yet

Some weeks we’ll get an early goal and break their spirit. At Tynecastle we’ll pump them. It was very evident we have players with a lot more ability tonight. Too many people listen to the horrific commentary and let it shape their views on the game.

I hope folk that speak like that leave early ‘Doors’.

No one is saying we didnt win it.

No one is unhappy with the 3 points.

Some are happy with the performance(s) some have reservations.

Reservations FFS we were diabolical for a great majority of the game.  When the goal didn't come from our first fifteen minutes pressing, we lost our shape, were pedestrian and reverted to last season's pass, pass, pass or big punt.  We invited them on to us and on several occasions our defense was at sixes and sevens. They were the team pressing and could easily have scored on several occasions, especially in the last two minutes.

This is just not good enough and Robbie needs to find a solution quickly.

For those who think we'll be a different team next week, I just hope your right.

Wait wait wait Boyce didn't even break sweat tonight....on another level?

I think my sarcasm meter is broken but i’ll assume thats what it is.

Nope.  He’ll score 20 + goals this season, I’m sure of it. Once Naismith is fully fit, he’ll have better service and won’t need to drop back for the ball as much.

It was an ugly win. Vital and it’s especially important should leagues end early for instance.

it was a disappointing performance but on reflection Arbroath are good at home and played out their skins. Probably as hard an away game as we may expect to be honest.

below par performances by a few but play poorly and get the points is what winning leagues is about.

the game next week will take care of itself and be completely different

The most inaccurate description of the game yet.

I think some of you need to go back and look at the last time we were in the Championship and check out how many ground out away results we had.

yup. remember Alloa away when Eckersley got a deflected winner in a 1-0 win in the 87th minute. Truly awful game but like tonight a wins a win

Before tonight we'd won 2 of our last 20 away matches in the league. I'll take a scrappy 3 points thanks very much, especially off the back of our excellent performance last week.

Let us not kid ourselves - That was an horrific performance yet a bit of quality from Wighton got us off the hook...We need to do better away from home. More self-belief, more confidence, more arrogance. Smith said it was windy, so why all the long balls? regardless that one got us a goal.

I genuinely don’t get it. Why can’t Hearts fans be happy when we win? You can’t all be Hibs fans trolling or be the Hearts fans that pander to your Hibby mates and agree with them so they like you?

Utterly depressing. Enjoy us winning again. Build a bit of swagger and arrogance amongst the support. Nit picking and negative pish all over the place. Get a grip.

Not pretty but a hard place to go and a team smarting from a rubbing the week before. Three points and a clean sheet which at the end of the day is all that matters.

Hard fought win.

Not brilliant but three points.

Neither Boyce or Lee were as bad as some folks on here are suggesting.

Craig Gordon tho ! What a signing !

Off topic but I love the use of the word ‘an’ in front of a word that begins with ‘h’ . it shows good breeding, good education and just a tad of class.

Lee is fine when he’s got a wee bit time and space to think. Games like tonight where you need to get your shorts dirty and he’s a waste of a jersey.

Boyce was fine in the work he did outside the box but he doesn’t look to me to have goals in him. He misses chances. He has little composure  and he makes the wrong choice a lot of the time. Might come good in front of goal I suppose but Wighton is ahead of him now for me if we’re only playing one up and that in itself is an issue we knew had to be addressed but was overlooked or ignored by RN.

Arbroath did well last season so I'll take any win. Yes it could have been prettier but thats 6/6 points.

The hibs game will take care of itself, thats not to say we will skoosh it, just that our league for will have little bearing on things

Was Roberts injured or just rested? Have we clarified that, sorry?

Robbie wasn't even asked prematch why he was left out.   Standard questions when there's a team change.   Nada.   Very strange.

I'll keep reading on here to see if there's information.

Hearts were crap tonight. The apologists can dress it up with their usual feeble excuses. But we were still crap.

No excuses required after another win.

Do you understand football and how it works?

How can a team be crap after  a game- having had more shots, more corners and more possession and also  win the game with a great finish?

I'm out for tonight. Happy with 3 points away from home. It wasn't pretty but nobody wil remember that at the end of the season, just 3 more points on the way to winning the league. Well done Hearts.

My first ever away game was a 0-1 @ Arbroath. Good enough then.

And now.

Sticky pitch,  narrow,  hard working opponent,  never out of 2nd gear.

Similar to Alloa game 6 years ago.

Only danger to promotion is Covid19
