OTT
Does anyone get the feeling that OF fans who are players tend to chuck it after they get released? Stokes is a quality player that shouldn't be at a club like Livi. Likewise, Andy Halliday is still without a club and in the peak of his career, Lafferty is just going to float about on 1 year deals till retirement. Andy Little seemed a decent enough striker to make it a smaller top flight club. Its like dream achieved and they switch off. (not saying its true in all cases, but seems to be apparent that it does happen). FWIW, I would probably take Halliday if the opportunity was there. Reckon he has everything the fans want to see. Hugh Burns. He basically chucked it when Souness sold him to us. Not sure we really wanted him anyway but, apparently, he came as a job lot with big Davy or no deal. Burns wasn't great but was good enough to carve out a career at other clubs.

Hearts (Alex MacDonald) didn't want him but wanted Dave McPherson and Souness said he'd have to take Burns as well or the deal was not happening. Not sure if injuries played a part but I don't recall that being one of his issues (he had, it was rumoured, a very unsavoury attitude toward some of his new team mates). Big Davy, on the other hand, was terrific. So much so that Rangers paid us around 4 times the 1987 fee to get him back in 1992. Excellent when he returned in '94 too and universally respected and fondly remembered by all Hearts fans who were around in those days. What a difference. I actually liked him as a player but after a wee bit of stick it the mentioned game he bit and started hurling abuse from the pitch towards the Hearts support. Trevor Brooking playing for Dunfermline that night too. Edited August 24, 2020 by FinnBarr Saunders

HMFC01
https://www.dailyrecord.co.uk/sport/football/football-transfer-news/anthony-stokes-set-shock-livingston-22682765 😀 Anthony Stokes is set to leave Livingston without kicking a ball, as the striker expresses concern over training on an artificial pitch. Stokes, however, isn’t keen on training every day on an artificial surface at the Tony Macaroni Arena, and that has been a major factor in his shock departure. Stokes has nothing lined up but is now on the lookout for a new club. Selective quotes, not the whole story, not much of a story though. Just a quick headline as usual from the daily record.
