I do have a recollection of going downstairs to a bar just across from it - seems to be called The Basement Bar now. Anyone got a clue why there were two bars called Mathers? Stuart Lyon Posted July 20, 2020 Share Posted July 20, 2020 Darlings Hotel was for many years the Waterloo Hotel. Sometimes the current owner would add his name to it like Gibb’s Waterloo hotel. Clarinda’s (and Sylvander’s) were at the other end of Waterloo Place; Howies Restaurant now occupies the site according to Google Maps.
