Own up, who does it?

Or is it just me

I seriously do it all the time - non stop

should I worry?

It's my only guarantee of intelligent conversation.

I do. I have long conversations with myself: always have since I was 4 or 5! And contrary to popular wisdom, I'd contend it's actually stopped me from going mad, believe it or not!

What do you talk about?

seriously.............anything

If I am watching a TV program I will discuss it with myself

I am in my own wee world

It's good

as you can say what you want and you will never be offended

and I never bore myself

I frequently get caught in conversation with myself by cyclists sneaking silently up behind me.

I hate them.

Lonely, I'M so Lonely!

It is OK to talk to yourself - should you only hear yourself indicates you have a problem!

I do it too. And in much the same style as Gershwin said. I find it harmless fun and nothing at all wrong with it. Its a bit of a bugger when Mrs Chester catches me though...

I love talking to myself, only do it though when no one else is around to talk to.

I do it when watching tv or movies making jokes or points about it. Also when I am walking or cycling I always make up a wee story to tell myself (I have a good imagination and also ego-mad fantasys, be it football or other I tell myself as if it was an interview or a story i.e. I play FM2008 and like talking to myself when out cycling pretend I am interviewing myself about mangerial matters i.e. why did you buy x? helps actully make the game feel better and help get some strategy in the game.)

Think I mainly talk rather than think it in my head as I cant stand being silent. Though I quieten down and try not to move my lips when I go past people as they may think I'm mad.

As they say talking to yourself is not a sign of madness, hearing answers is.

talking to yourself isn't a problem, it's when yourself talks to you that you need to worry.

I talk to myself in private all the time, certainly don't do it at work. I work beside a girl and I never know if she is talking to me or just mumbling to herself, I just nod and smile regularly just incase!

The worst is when I'm walking down the road, think no-one's around, start a chat with myself only for someone to abruptly appear! Most embarrassing. Bear in mind as well that my conversations tend to be the verbal equivalents of many of my threads on here: when I'm by myself, I can go on and on for hours...

Talking to yourself is mental people. I prefer to talk to my imaginary friend, like a sane person.

done it a couple of times. i was skiving off work (6 weeks i think!) and spent most of the time back and forward to edinburgh and to see mates in england.

had to spend a week in aberdeen to sell my flat and since i worked with pretty much all my mates up there it felt like i was incarcerated. did actually say a few things to myself and answer back. realised what i was doing and felt like a bell end. spending too much time on your own does turn you into a lunatic

I like to talk to myself about people I don't like, while they are in the room with me.

Just to mess with them.

Then I scream a little bit and wet myself just to complete the performance.

Theirs a lass at my work who has to commentate on everything she is doing, on top of that everything is a drama... she either LOVES everything or HATES it...

What a nippy cow.

Shouldn't be allowed... she also wonders why her man cant be ersed with her any more... christ, he'd have to be deaf and blind.
