The Old Tolbooth Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Their fans were absolutely superb all night long last night, credit where it's due, their players were a disgrace throwing themselves all over the shop without being touched though, but their manager whipping the fans up, and the response he got from them, was just brilliant! Lovecraft Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Shame about their eye bleeding anti-football. Quote
King prawn Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Forgot it was Champions League night last night - pulled into a metro station and it felt like 1000s got on Quote

They play like that regardless of the opposition. Effective, but dire to watch. Simeone is like Levein with passion and a bigger budget 😉 Quote
Shanks Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I'm enjoying listening to talksport just now, they are all crying over Atletico using the 'dark arts' to beat the best team in the world ever. It's hilarious. Quote
Irufushi Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 I love atletico’s and simeone's tactics to be honest, they work incredibly hard as a team. Quote

They can play cracking football too but it really can be enjoyable just to watch their tactics and team set up. Everyone knows their job. Quote

He's done an incredible job with them. One of the smartest things he has done, is to refresh the side on a regular basis, even if it means selling key players. In doing so he has avoided the burn out that happens with team's coached by Mourinho in Guardiola after a few seasons, as it's new players hearing the same voice. Quote

Tazio Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 Bizarrely the anti football team’s goalkeeper didn’t have a shot to save but did trouble the keeper up the other end a few times. Very strange. Quote

Busby8 Posted February 19, 2020 Posted February 19, 2020 (edited) Been to the old stadium once a few tears ago, ( they beat Betis 5-1 😊 ), and their fans were superb then also. Funny how things change too, as when I was a kid I saw this and hated Atletico for years because of it. Now I wish they had gone in harder. Edited February 19, 2020 by Busby8 Quote
