Deodato Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Oval balls time, once again. This is high variance territory for Scotland, with the "Finn fall out" casting a cloud over our team and management. On the positive side, a new Ireland team will need time to settle in. That can only help. Hastings will be less erratic than his predecessor too - and there have been calls for a more 'boring' (read: tighter) game from Scotland. I see a low scoring 'risk averse' game without much margin between the two. Many of the additions to the Scotland squad are interesting - these players won't give two hoots about Finn and will focus on securing their place. Huw Jones ...with that man on the pitch, you never know What's JKB saying to this one? Deodato Quote
Mikey1874 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 People in the camp are saying it's a completely new and different team. It is 10 changes from both the Ireland and Japan World Cup games. Not playing one of the best players in the world is an interesting approach. Quote
Taffin Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 (edited) Endless turnovers and penalties given away. No plan B and another dismal Townsend shambles. Edit: I'd love nothing more than to have those words rammed back down my throat this evening! Edited February 1, 2020 by Taffin Quote
Captain Sausage Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Ireland to win by 10+. Hastings will be different to Russell, in that he is not an international quality fly half. Townsend’s send off will likely be a wooden spoon. Quote
Cruyff Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Scotland will get smashed and will finish in 6th place. Townsend is a bellend. Hastings only gets a game because of his dad. Not fit to lace Russell's boots. Quote

Agreed they've given a away too many penalties and Scotland won't be much of a measure although I hope I'm wrong. Wales have been brutal to watch for years but found a way to win. Not a big fan of Biggar, North or Halfpenny, like rugby robots. Quote
Dusk_Till_Dawn Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Please bomb Italy out of the tournament. They are a waste of time Quote

Taffin Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Decent start but as usual carelessness costing us. Quote
Malinga the Swinga Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Early days but Hastings and Price are as weak a number 9 & 10 as you will find in World rugby. Might help if the referee penalised Ireland for lying on the ball instead of being suckered by their screaming and winging. Quote
AlphonseCapone Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 I don't follow rugby but will stick on 6 nations games. Maybe it's my ignorance but Scotland are frustratingly pish. Get in good positions and then show utterly astonishing levels of incompetence. How can you not keep a hold of the ball, thought they are professionals? Like football players misplacing 5 yard passes. Quote
Roxy Hearts Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 We should be winning. Silly mistakes in their 22. Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 It really annoys me how long an advantage lasts in the modern game! Quote

All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Hogg that is unforgivable ☹️ Quote
Victorian Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Just when you think they can't get any more feckless. Just give up. Quote
Malinga the Swinga Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Horrendous from Hogg. Perhaps if he kept concentrating on game, he wouldn't be prone to mistakes that cost his side an easy try. Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Only Scotland could **** up a try scoring chance like that 😖 Quote
Roxy Hearts Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 The Hibby, hibsed it! Ffs. We are by far the better team. Only us! Quote
Malinga the Swinga Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 At least the forwards are fronting up. After so many bad defeats by Ireland recently, Scotland are at least giving as good as they are getting in the tackling and hits department. Hastings, Price and Jones can't tackle and consistently miss their man Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 The Ireland player just ran into the Scotland player, how is that a pen. This game is stupid! Quote
Taffin Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Devoid of any invention when trying to get across the line then failing on the basics. So frustrating Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 What a chance missed. We just lack the grunt in the last bit to score! Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Another indifferent season looms! Quote

Roxy Hearts Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 How did we lose that? Ffs! Ireland are pish. Quote
Mikey1874 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Townsend better not come out with loads of positives Threw away the win. Quote
Malinga the Swinga Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Very disappointing end to good move. Need the scrum half and number 10 to be screaming at forwards telling them what to do but instead Horne and Hastings offer nothing. Wtason and Ritchie have been fantastic, infact they were best players on tbe park, but the backs have let them down. Far too many players letting themselves down with captain Hogg being one of the main offenders. Stil, Townsend can spout same crap as always after we lose but he seems unable to do anything about it. Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 How much are we paying that chief executive again ? Quote
All roads lead to Gorgie Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Hogg celebrating a try after he obviously dropped it was embarrassing! I remember him doing the same thing for Glasgow once as well. Quote

Victorian Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Scotland are a exciting team with flaws of naivety and an ability to shoot themselves in the foot on a regular basis. Cut out half the horrendous mistakes and they could win 2 or 3. I wont be putting any bets on though. Quote
manaliveits105 Posted February 1, 2020 Posted February 1, 2020 Never changes give away penalties let ball be turned over when threatening drop passes kick at wrong time change coaches and players - same result Quote

Despite Ritchie and Watson playing well only one turnover, Ireland had maybe 5/6, thats the difference in the modern game between winning and losing. Hogg - Quote
The Brow Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 Supporting Scotland at Rugby must be what it feels like to support Spurs. So close, but ultimately no killer instinct and always concocting fantastic ways to throw it away. Quote
Mikey1874 Posted February 2, 2020 Posted February 2, 2020 The one big positive yesterday was the Hogg 'try'. The forwards battled and drove well then the backs created the opportunity. Was very disappointing they then didn't have the composure to repeat that in the 2 drives afterwards. Townsend focussing on the positives but they need to deliver next week. Quote
