escobri
I think more restrictions are coming in January though not sure how they'll implement any. Extended use of vaccine passports looks likely/ reduced capacities with table service only for restaurants maybe, big drive on the boosters aswell. They are not driving up the level of fear for nothing. This thread ain't ending anytime soon 🤣

SuperstarSteve
39 minutes ago, Dennis Denuto said: If you look back up the thread you will see someone explain why this is needed. TBH I think it’s fair enough if they think there is some previous infection and vaccine immunity escape with Omicron. At least they’ve changed the rules on non-household close contacts for Omicron. Not isolating when required to is the best way we can spread this thing and keep us in restrictions for longer. I respect the fact we need to be cautious but I can’t see the logic in a whole household isolating regardless of being triple jabbed and a negative test. If you are feeling unwell and test positive you should isolate. Fauci said in an interview anyone testing positive over a PCR cycle threshold of 35 and above it’s dead cells, they spread will be miniscule and they shouldn’t be in hospital but you need to ask for the threshold he said. So there will be healthy people isolating and losing wages depending on circumstances, as mentioned already on here. They will also be in hospital when they shouldn’t be and that certainly won’t help the NHS. (If they are following no released until negative test) If a positive test with a cycle threshold of 35 and over is dead cells and little to no risk. Where is the logic in Isolating people who are triple jabbed with a negative test? Surely they are zero risk? Healthy people not allowed to leave the house is something i just can’t agree with. I have mentioned earlier it’s the exact same rules for my family in Australia with the exception they take close contacts to camps regardless of vaccine or test status. At the moment we need to stay at home. The effect is similar though…Job losses. Hospital backlog, Economy crumbling, all for a virus that for the majority is a 99.7% survival rate? Ive been recently asking myself is this saving more people than we kill or is it vice versa? Answer… Vice versa. Right or wrong. Absolutely No logic in it. The only two Covid stories are about corruption in South Sudan and Ghana banning the unvaxxed from entering. Would have expected news of South African hospitals being overwhelmed to be making up the headlines. S.A. hospitals are nowhere near being overwhelmed. They continue to report fairly good news on severe illness. It's a bit of a mixed picture there and some odd contradictions. But currently there are reasonably encouraging signs from South Africa. Nucky Thompson
I think we can agree that most people are pissed off with governments and are not even the slightest bit scared of this virus anymore. Getting the message over is going to be a lot harder after the shit that's coming out of Westminster about Christmas parties, even if you use stupid words like tsunami. People won't wear masks because it's not enforceable, same with getting tested, or even isolating.
