Thought it was just another job for the boys when he was appointed ,but now most of our loanees are back is there even a job for him that someone else could do?will he be on a contract (mental if he is) and a decent salary?

I like Gary and he was a great servant but surely a loan manager is a total waste of money?

Levein approves of this.

Done Ann like a fiddle along with the minority of KB.

The loanees are back for now but I'd expect at least a couple of them to go back out at the end of the month. Anthony Macdonald a likely contender given he didn't get to play for Dunfermline and Moore and Henderson are taking their chance at the moment.

A lot will depend on who leaves and comes in but can't imagine they'll all stay if we can make some signings.

Nothing wrong with a loans manager as a position within the club. Glad to see someone like Gary Naysmith in the role too. This jobs for the boys chat is awful.

Plenty clubs have similar set ups.

Yeah sack him. We will never send any more players out on loan, nor do we still have several at other clubs currently.

We won, today..Take at least one day off, FFS.

I'm sure Stendal will decide if he is worth keeping, if we are trimming the squad down and wat to develop youth players I'd imagine loans will still be a key element in this

As long as it isn't paying a fortune, its managing,  scouting and development all in one,  what's not like done properly

I imagine he'll be fairly busy at the moment trying to match players with clubs, but expect these to go through close to the window shutting given our managerial changes recently.

He's also a contact point for players loaned in such as Pereira and Meshino and anyone else that we can bring in on loan.

This.

Loans manager is a position we are not used to in Scotland but common in other leagues.

Possibly people criticising the position are the same people who criticise anything and everything on here.

Naysmith knows his stuff, played at a great level, knows football outside of Scotland and knows lower leagues in Scotland, has managerial experience and when I have had the privilege of hearing him speaking about football comes over as a very determined and knowledgeable man.

IMO Naysmith is an asset to the club.

Might be wrong but MacDonald (and possibly Cochrane) played for Hearts in the league cup and have played for Dunfermline so can now only play for Hearts or Dunfermline for the rest of the season. Sure there is a rule about playing for a max of 2 teams per season.

McDonald did play for Hearts. Not Cochrane.

We won yesterday. Enjoy it ffs!

I think we can enjoy a win over the mighty Airdrieonians and discuss other stuff. It's not too difficult.

If we need a loan manager then he seems like a good candidate. Has worked in the lower leagues, which is where most of our young loanees go.

Exactly, it will be his remit to find clubs for guys not going to get game time,  just cos some of our better loanees are back doesn’t mean he doesn’t have an important role to play.

As mentioned most clubs have this set up, one of the better things Levein done imo

I think Naysmith in the role of loan manager obviously will send guys out but possibly through his playing days at Everton and Huddersfield may have contacts to bring guys in too.

He's a decent Hearts man and give the job time to see how it works I think

The Natural Order

We recalled most of our loaned out players so lets sack Naysmith? Does the fact that we recalled them and they've started to show that they can be first team players not show the system is working? Is the idea not that the Academy should continue to produce young players who may benefit from a loan spell?????

WTF is wrong with some people?
