Loved his kamikaze dribble out of the box, even though I was screaming for him to stop it while it was happening.

Had a fair bit to do and only one error that I saw. I like the guy, especially if Jorg is happy with him.

He would be a good keeper if he could save shots. But he cant.

Was praying for him to be part of the Bruno Fernandes deal at Man United

Finding a Goalkeepers is a summer job. Good ones are like hens teeth as it is. We'll just have to hope we outscored our opponents and he doesn't have to face many shots.

I thought he was atrocious today. Quicker we get him emptied and replaced by a safer pair of hands the better.

This I’m afraid. Not many negatives to take from today but I would hope we are looking at bringing a GK in this window.

It reminded me of the scene in mean machine when statham was being smart then got the ball nicked from him lol thankfully that didn't happen today

Terrible goalie although perhaps not too bad a sweeper.

I await the new, fashionable cliche.

He’s not even a decent sweeper, I thought he was going to slice it behind him instead of into N that time in the first half  we really need a solid reliable goalie. They all have mistakes in them.

You sound like Airdrie were in the game (had a fair bit to do) nah he did what he had to do but not the answer

That was my take on it too.  People like to moan though.

I thought his handling was much improved today and bailed Halkett out a couple of times. He is a bit unorthodox but he could be a good keeper.

Wont be the long term answer at Hearts though.

If Clare gets injured, he could probably do a job at right back.

Also reckon with the power in his kicking, could he hit direct free kicks?

He's great with his feet and his distribution of the ball is better than anything we've had. Normal goal keeping tasks he's not the best at but he's still learning.

He's not ours though and Man U have been trying add him into player deals, so we really need to find a new keeper.

This in spades. It’s a running theme this season.  Zlamal was shite because he couldn’t read Berra’s mind and now Pereira’s shite because Souttar’s too slow and Halkett has the touch of an elephant.

Overall I’m delighted with the performance today, but once again I’m left thinking WTF??? in relation to our back two (and that’s supposed to be our first pick).  What’s worse is that Smith seemed to get himself injured throwing himself into a challenge to clean up a Souttar brain fart.

It’s his first clean sheet since October so, today’s a day to look at the positives. Well done to Joel and to all the defence.

Great sweeper and first class distribution the rest average but miles better than other 2, am happy enough till Daniel brings his own man next season.

Think he looked a bit more comfortable today. Think half his issues have been uncertainty with Berra in front of him now we have Souttar & Halkett partnered together again we should hopefully get a better keeper.

In his defence he caught the ball twice above his head, so new coach, Sievers, must be working hard with him. Still, the Airdrie keeper, that most of us I doubt have ever heard of, made one, at least, better save than we'll ever see Pereira make.

Almost as if it was two young players, both coming back from serious injury, both playing together properly for the first time?

Another vote for shite.

Willing to come flying out of his box but not yet off his line for things in his area.

Kind of indecisive keeper that kills defenders confidence

He has great feet and a good footballing brain.

Having watched various Hearts keepers panic when a player come within 30 yards and hoof it long. It’s nice to have a keeper with a bit of composure.

Are they? I mean honestly, at our level we just need a good shot stopper. Jamie MacDonald is a good shot stopper.

If a goalkeeper isn't a good stopper they have no business playing at our level.

Pereira isn't a good shot stopper

Bobby is a better shot stopper but clearly inspires no confidence in his defence

Doyle is leaving hopefully soon.

I would say every club in the league has a better first choice keeper than us because they are better shot stoppers. Being able to play football means nothing if you can't save very savable shots.

I think come the summer (if not before) we will sign a first choice keeper head and shoulders better than what we have. Levein has done absolutely nothing right in the last 12 months. His choice of keepers has been utterly baffling. (I can't believe I'm about to say this) Hibs have 3 keepers all of which are better than what we have. Its soul crushing we have failed so miserably to cover such a crucial position with the bare minimum that the position demands.

Gordon can't be happy sitting on Celtics bench when he's already lost 2 years of his career to injury. That would be my choice, good enough and old enough to bridge the gap for Harry Stone to come in before stepping back.  I'd hope Celtic would respect the time he's given them and allow him to move on. Obviously wishful thinking but not unheard of.

Pereira’s only 23 and has never played with Halkett and Souttar together as well.  My point is we seem to have adopted a “blame the keeper first” culture.

I'd disagree, if they aren't then why have we struggled to find a permanent solution in goals?

I also disagree that they just need to be a competent shot stopper. The games moved on. Keepers can no longer just be good at stopping shots and get away with punting it up the park.

I think with the way we play with a high line, we need someone that can sweep and distribute well too. They need to be good at everything. I believe that's very important. The amount of possession lost by poor Goalkeeping distribution costs goals.

Craig Gordon imo isn't the answer. He is not a long term solution. He is injury prone. He is getting on and his demands will still be high. He's not remotely worth it.

I've always believed that the goalkeeping position is probably the most key position on the park and we need to invest properly in that position and scour the earth to ensure we find a top notch keeper for this level. It's certainly not going to happen this window but I'm sure that both Stendel & Sievers will have a much broader knowledge of Goalkeepers in places we may not and I'm sure they'll be on the case.

I agree with this. His distribution was fantastic today, held everything that came towards him.

The rush out the box resulting is the dribble is the only real fault I could find today, would’ve been boring without it.

Noticed this today, comes out when the ball is free, but never when under any pressure!

I think he could be a good player, at a reasonable level, but Jesus, he's getting nowhere near the Man United team!

Think he done alright. Can see why people were panicking with his dribble outside the box.

We will definitely need a 'modern style' keeper if we are to play so offensively as their distribution will need to be spot on, confidence to play passes with the centre halfs and pick out a long pass when required.

He did fine. He’s not a world beater right now but I think he has potential. I think Colt will help him.

New keeper in the summer, hopefully Adam Davies...

I think Bobby and Doyle have both done their bit to make him look better than he is. Chocolate wrists and erratic decision making. All that said his distribution is actually very decent and maybe a run of undefeated games would do him power of good but still gives me the fear every time someone shoots with any power.

Thought he did OK yesterday (manic dribbling outside box aside).  With the right training i think he could develop into a decent keeper.
