Ann Budge will announce the re-birth of Craig Levein as the saviour of Hearts. You heard it here 1st folks and get ready to board the happy train through the Championship to the new Jerusalem that is Division 1. Personally I am gripped with excitement at the thought. Busby8
Can't take chances on anyone with a history of injury or poor disciplinary problems. Neither, in this transfer window can we be looking at players we hope to develop just for the future. Anyone that comes in needs to be able to hit the ground running, and be available for most of the remaining games this season. Finding those players is the issue. There are a few out of contract this summer that we may be able to get early for a small fee... for example: GK - Carson, Foderingham, Hladky CB - Lithgow CM - Halliday, Pittman RW - Matty Kennedy, Hayes CF - Mikel Miller, Danny Mullen Also a couple with injury issues that may be worth the gamble: Gordon, Davidson. Injuries have been our downfall over the last 2 years - we need energetic, athletic players to play a pressing game and they need to have bombproof fitness. Phage
It's a tougher window but hopefully there is a bit of wheeling and dealing to be done. Players free to go if they find a club working both ways. Hopefully a bit of cash spent to avoid the bigger cost of relegation. My personal fear is another Cathroesque January window
Kiwidoug
I could well be wrong but I reckon a couple of loans are on the cards.
rick witter
We need to drop ****ing around when we sign players and get them in as early as possible in the window. We then have to hope that unlike almost everyone we sign the new guys hit the ground running. We can’t afford them to be taking 4/6 weeks getting up to speed by that time we are down!!! Skacelsid
Every position can be improved on, such is the state we are in, but that won't be possible. DS needs to get a response from the bulk of this squad, the impact of new signings is critical to this, that can lift everyone and it needs to. We need pace in defence, especially in the centre and at least one needs to come in, be it on loan or a signing, with young Petkov (doing well at lower level apparently) also recalled as an option even if for cover. LB needs cover or replacement, depending on what happens with Hickey. Personally I think he will still be here. He would only be signed as a prospect, and not as a first team player at a higher level at his stage, that in itself limits interest. We need creative, agressive energy in the middle of the park (oh for a Colin Cameron). That however is not Lee, but he might be more effective under DS if recalled and he may be keen to put himself in the shop window. Striker /goalscorer definitely, but the team in general has to be scoring and creating. Beating opponents one on one, midfielders getting into scoring areas and onto the end of things, trying a shot, wide players getting to the bye line. These things seem to have been coached out of us. We cannot defend our way out of this. With DS,s European/ German connections hopefully he can spring a couple of gems on us. Merry Christmas and a prosperous Boxing Day. Four major signings required right up the spine of the team. Goalkeeper, Solid Centre Back, Attacking Midfielder and Striker minimum. Hopefully our secret benefactor isfeeling the Xams spirit and can fund a couple of pacey wingers. We can live in hope.
Bazzas right boot
If we can get Walker Naismith Uche Washingston All match fit and working it will help. Souttar will improve us as well. Midfield is a bit weak. Mulraney could leave Damour not quite upto speed, but I personally think he's OK, but atm not effective enough. Morrison is a peripheral player. Bozanic offers nothing. Meshino is lightweight. Clare is inconsistent. Whelan is decent but even he's struggling. We need a wide midfield player and a central midfielder imo. Up front is move one on and replace with another, but that will be difficult in January. Might need another option at lb as well. Missed out a gk, that is actually a priority. The 3 of them are not good enough. Edited December 25, 2019 by Smith's right boot

Pretty much there 😉 would add goalkeeper. I have ran out of confidence with any, which is a shame.
Holyrood_Hearts
IMO we need a new GK, RB (id be moving Smith into midfield & releasing Bozanic &/or Whelan) and 2 strikers. We don’t need to make massive changes to the squad, just better quality in goal & up front.
