Great interview with the beat Hearts manager of my lifetime.

Who knew that within three years this man would win us the Cup?

BTW, that looks like Bett on the bench but I thought he was gone by the time JJ was appointed.

Scott Leitch on the left, not sure about the other but it’s not Jim Bett?!

That's definitely Leitch and I'm convinced that's Bett. Both wearing 14.

Him and his wee Bro Sean (now a QC) were Celtic fans at primary school. Aidan will argue he was more hibs than Celtic but those in the know.... know! 😁

Lord Beni of Gorgie

JJ was a fantastic manager for us and forever will be a hero.

But time does move on. As much as I love him, I think we remember his stewardship fondly

No need for that and totally disrespectful. Many of us love JJ and can still appreciate Hearts legend Levein.

Aye Ive just looked at that. At the start if 95-96 theres only 2 only pre season Tynecastle friendlies- Newcastle and Man City.  Jim Bett is on the bench for the Newcastle one as is Leitch but doesnt seem involved at all for the 5-1 romping of City.

Thats probably that then.

It's either that or a Dens 86 mention. The big ringpiece will never get over that day in May 2012. 😊

Every need for that!

I hugely appreciated Levein as a player - as a DoF he was proven to be a disaster resulting in his sacking.

JJ is the Hearts Legend here!

It does look like him, but according to londonhearts he signed for United on 1 August 1995, and JJ came to us that same month, I dont see how their paths would have crossed.

4th August JJ came to us

Yeah I see that now, I only looked at the recorded transfer dates, my fault for not looking deeper.

Definitely him.

It’s only caused confusion because none of us recall bett playing under jj.
To be honest, I don’t recall leitch playing that season either.

JJ is the true definition of a proper Hearts man - fan, player, captain, manager, legend.

So good to see him fighting fit after his health scare and it would be great if we could find a role for him at the club.

JJ is a great guy. Went to same school as me. A Jambo through and through but it’s not fair to suggest he should be SD. Advisor to AB, yes and not before time,  but he’s ready to retire.

Did we really send players out with "Pony" on their shirts - surely not!! I don't remember that sponsor all.

For a couple of seasons at least. Shirt maker, not sponsor.

I think the big Pony on the training shirts there just threw me. Couldn't remember that being on the actual shirts.
