So-called "Hobo hunting"

The management and moderators at JKB are well aware that some members are getting, how shall we say, a bit paranoid about Hobo "sleepers" on the board.

However, the reaction to this is now getting OTT, and "Hobo hunting" has reached the stage where good Jambos are being called Hobos simply because they disagree with someone else.

This is the most popular Hearts message board there is, with over 3,000 people visiting at least once each day. And whether we like it or not, the fact is that the club isn't exactly a shining example of best practice in football management. Because of this, there's plenty of scope for Hearts supporters to feel a bit negative. So it is hardly surprising that quite a lot of us will express opinions that quite another lot of us won't like.

That's the way it is, and if you'd prefer a quiet place on the internet where everyone agrees with your opinion, then maybe the biggest and busiest Hearts forum isn't the best place to look.

Of course, it's also true that because JKB is the best place to find Hearts supporters, it's also the best place for Hobos on the windup to look for people to annoy. And let's face it, they're Hobos - what the hell else are they going to do with their sad little lives? If the moderators find Hobos on the windup or pretending to be Jambos, they will deal with them. And if members report people like this and give some reasonable evidence to support their case, that will help the moderators to do this properly.

JKB has rules about how members should treat each other, and the moderators have asked me to remind members that they are expected to comply with them.

So if you really suspect someone of being a Hobo, report them using the reporting button. If we see reasonable evidence that someone is on the wind up, they will be escorted off the premises.

However, the moderators have also asked me to point out that if you go hobo hunting, and good Jambos get caught in the crossfire, they will take action. There really isn't any point in getting yourself infracted or suspended about something like this, so please try not to let this happen.

Thanks.
