The 68-year-old took unwell on Monday morning and was taken to hospital. In 1998 he led Hearts to their first Scottish Cup triumph in 32 years, as they defeated Rangers 2-1 at Celtic Park. His last post in management was at Dunfermline Athletic and he has also had spells in charge of Bradford City, Falkirk and Kilmarnock. Better than him joining us in 1995 before leaving us after 5 years in 1995 whilst winning the cup in 1998 🤷🏻♂️🙈
DETTY29
Seeing the pictures of him earlier today and how brilliant and fit he was looking. And then this. That fitness after needing resuscitated perhaps has pulled him through. Get well soon JJ.
D4nny_
Poor guy. Was standing chatting to him earlier in the year in the week up to the cup final. He was looking extremely fit and healthy. OTT
Hope he's recovering well. Awful thing to happen to him. I'd love to see the big man back involved with the club too. At his age some sort of advisory or ambassador position could be perfect for him. Its weird, but being born in the 90s, you kinda just see JJ as the hearts manager, like everyone else has just been keeping the seat warm. Anyway, hope his recovery goes well. Pleased at least to hear he's up and about already.
Spellczech
He's the PHM whose success we've been trying to repeat with quite a few managerial signings since 98... the man who ended the long wait. Hope he recovers.
