Takis Fysass and Edgaras Jankauskas.

£16,000 per week basic.

Those were my thoughts also. Remember it being silly money.

I mind the woman who used to live below me going in the huff when I posted Cameron was on £10k pw and his ex wife had pulled her up about it 🤣

Pretty sure Laryra Kingston was on a fair wedge. Mind you, if measured on a ratii of wages to appearances then Malaury Martin would be a good shout

Big Davie V on minutes played/ wages.

Sean Clare, if reports are true, is on about £120k/ week atm.

Pretty sure someone worked out Pinilla per minutes played was something ridiculous. Not too sure how accurate it was.

Andrew driver was getting top dollar at us to get the move before leg break,

He would be up there I think as they where trying the same Craig Gordon thing

I remember reading an article which said that when Gordon signed his new contract he was earning up to £25,000 per week.

Would they really know that though.

Irony of those slating Obua is he would walk into the team now and actually be one of our best players.

Nah, not having that! Adrian Mowriec however...

All of these were on huge money relative to Hearts during the Romanov era

Jankauskas

Fyssas

Tall

Bednar

Beslija

Aguiar

Pinilla

Kingston

Pressley, Gordon and Hartley all got big deals too.

I believe at the time Stephane Adam, post cup final heroics got one of the biggest Hearts contracts ever at that point.

Well you'd be wrong. He'd walk into the current midfield.

Obua was a better player than both Clare and Mulraney will ever be.

IIRC Gordon was supposed to be on £19k a week just before his transfer.

I have a note of what players were due in wages when we went into administration in June 2013. From those figures, I worked out their pro rata wages. Jamie Hamill, Ryan Stevenson and Jamie McDonald were top earners, all on around £225k a year or over £4,300 a week.  The total wage bill for all staff was £5.4m (74% of turnover) in that season.

The wage bill had dropped significantly by the date of administration. It had peaked at £12.5m in the year to June 2007 (121% of turnover) and went to 124%, 126%, 115% and 116% for the next four seasons, before dropping to 95% and 74% prior to administration.

David Obua was immense v Hibs at Easter Road. He was certainly capable of brilliance, we just never seen it enough.

You’re probably right, he’d get in this Hearts team no problem if he had played like that every week.

Naismith was earning £50k+ a week according to .net

Yip £45k being paid by Norwich and signed his new deal on what we were paying albeit maybe little more

being honest couldn’t give a toss what players are paid - will be a pittance v what the Gruesome Twosome are paying , we know the sheep paying well meaning just us v Hibs / who really gives a feck 👍

Surely a team like Falkirk or Dunfermline would take a punt on him

Don’t know about in the past, but Sean Clare’s £10k p/w must make him the highest paid current player...

Gordon was on £15k basic in the first year of his improved contract, with decent lump sum bonuses every 6 months.

Tynecastle Valhalla

I know for a fact it was zaliukus - if all went to plan for him - play the game, win bonus, score a goal, team kept winning games in a row etc he could earn more than £30k per week

that came from the cfo at the time

Sure it was something like 500 per win, increasing by the same amount for each consecutive win. We won 9 straight games at the start of 05/06 so the 1-0 win at ibrox would have seen a win bonus of 4.5k per player, if janny and takis were on 16k basic they would have picked up 20.5k for beating rangers that day

Must be Gordon

Was signed by Kaunas on 18k per week and got a clean sheet bonus which was mental.

He signed and basically said Romanov was nuts

That was confirmed to me by an ex team mate of his.
