Peebo
?2000 for every first time buyer -Another broken promise in their manifesto before they got in and had to get real. If you were to believe some people, first time buyers will soon be able to buy a house outright for that...

coppercrutch
To be fair to the SNP this was a ridiculous idea in the first place. There was no need for these grants 5 years ago. There will be no need for them in 5 years time. Just the usual short sighted thinking of politicians with ill thought out soundbite 'policies'. PS - I still think the SNP are a joke. Patrick Bateman
Surely if this was such a daft idea, especially given the slump in the housing market, that the SNP have actually done something good by dropping this policy? The world's economy has changed quite a bit in the last 18 months after all.

There you go - 2k benefit and the taxpayer doesn't foot the bill. Very simple really. Although to be fair if you are only offering 2k less you are not doing well.... jambo121
Not really the point though. Its just one of numerous polices that they have either failed to deliver or dropped now they are in power.
coppercrutch
Not really the point though. Its just one of numerous polices that they have either failed to deliver or dropped now they are in power. Indeed. And their previous opposition, Labour, are now even more pathetic than they were before. Seems that for the next few years the SNP can get away with all this nonsense. Is there anyone to oppose them ?
jammyheart
Broken promises your havin a laugh, given that the SNP is a minority government it's hardly surprising they've failed to deliver it all in the first year ... labour couldn't deliver all of theirs in now going on 11 years with a coalition majority. Asides, some policies were obviously never going to happen, ?2000 for first time buyers for example, especially the way the markets are going.A lot of you have been listening to to much unionist scare mongering tactics you actually believe it eg. Oil What happens when our oil runs out? Unionists should be askin what happens when uk oil runs out.Scotland has a surplus with oil the rest of the UK hasn`t even with oil .(surplus of ?837m (0.7% of GDP) in 2006/07 - compared with a UK deficit of ?4.3bn).
