Can anyone remember the name of a Chinese restaurant - on the stretch of Lothian Road between the Usher Hall and Bread Street? (Usher Hall side)

Not sure when it disappeared - it's driving me mad that I can't remember.

Was called the Imperial Palace before it became The Great Wall IIRC.

Really? When would that have been?

Loved the Great Wall.

Can now taste their prawn crackers, spare ribs and beef curry.

Used to use it when I stayed in morrison street in the early 90s until the day I ordered a special chow mein and it had what looked like a baby octopus in it. Boke.

Since we're on 80s nostalgia, bring back a Wimpy.

Loved a quarter pounder and a drag race from light to light in Princes Street.

I remember all the bikers that used to park up opposite, all those shiny 80s gpz's, fz's and gsxr's.

Thanks for trying pal . There and the one at the bottom of Dalry were my introduction to indian food. Started off just as an excuse for a late peev after pubs shut at 10pm

Shut down due to re-enacting a UB40 album if I remember correctly.

Ah right - Guns In The Ghetto.

Surprising really - Lothian Road's not Morningside, but it's not that tough an area.
