A good learning experience today.

Hickey, Irving and Smith all good.

Clare, Brandon Shaughnessy and Wighton nowhere near good enough to play for Hearts.

Hopefully the last league game as manager for Levein

Game over without being embarrassed.

Only one injury to a player who would probably started on bench next week.

A few youngsters exposed to a big game atmosphere and coped ok.

Onto the big one next week.

Understand that but could you imagine the uproar if Souttar was to get injured when he could of been taken off?

If Levein was so worried about Soapy he would never of played him.

As positive as it could have been without winning/picking up a point.

Well done to the kids who worked hard for 90 minutes and for Levein for getting his team and tactics fairly spot on under the circumstances.

Fill steam ahead 25 May.

So what have we learned from today?

Other than Levein still doesn't know how to get his team to attack.

He should of taken this opportunity to try out a few things upfront, but naw.

We're going to go into the final with slightly different personnel and the exact same tactics.

Absolutely no chance of winning anything when your attacking threat is virtually non existent.

:orly?:

We can only hope.

Leaving a young boy on the pitch clearly struggling, to give a run out some guy that's done zero on the pitch for us in his time here.

Let's the get next weeks hammering over and done with and look forward to next season with a fresh approach and a new manager & staff.

Feel sorry for Brandon, lad just hasn’t got it at this level.

could have a good career further down the leagues but just not good enough for the SPFL

Always about his level, lets be honest he cost us a point, he gave the ball away , never mind tackled, PATHETIC

Cruyff Turn

Hickey is a talented lad, in a few years when he is physically stronger, he will be excellent.

**** knows why Andy Irvine hasn’t played before now this season (apart from Cove). Better footballer than Lee and Bozanic. Composed and a great passer.

Connor Smith did well too.

Well done young lads.

Thought Hickey played well and done even better to carry on when clearly struggling.

Irving looked composed in the middle would like to see him getting more chances next season.

Smith done not too bad again today hopefully gets more chances next season

Wighton thought he done a very difficult job well today

I’m glad we’ve given Hughes a final run out. He’s had a great career, is a model professional and he’s had a massive influence on players like Souttar and Cochrane. He has done lots for our club.

Not doubting that, but do you think it was worth risking the serious long term injury of a 16 year old who is just breaking into a problem position for us?

Sentimentality aside, it was a ludicrous decision.

All roads lead to Gorgie

Impressed with the youngsters and Wighton had a better game than usual, in the first half anyway. Clare needs to do more next week but at least he will be fit as he didn't expell much energy today.

Frustrating second half. Thought we were decent in the first 45 but they made some tactical changes and we didn't get a look in after that. Really need a better player in Clare's position.

Agreed, he was physically much better and battled away.

Sean Clare’s was shocking, again. Shouldn’t be near a cup final squad.

Happy with that, all the youngsters were a credit to themselves. Wighton looked better and hickey maybe put him self in with a shout for next week.

Every single player next week needs the attitude and belief those youngsters had today if we are to have a shot.

That was quite interesting.

For a nothing game it was quite tense and a good watch thanks to a few youngsters looking to make an impression.

Commons almost complimentary about hickey.

Didnt see the hype about dembele.

Johnstone looks a real good prospect.

Most composed, quality football played since the first 10 games or so of the season. No long/second ball nonsense!

Normal service resumed for the final with the usual suspects back in and talented, energetic kids out. Hope I’m wrong!

I actually enjoyed that, first time I’ve said that for months. The game was a goner as soon as Hughes ? came on though, space opened up and far more loose balls out from the back. Why not take off Shaunassay.  I’m all for respect but at the expense of a confidence boost before the cup final, NAH!!

Clair. :waiting:

Is it just me, but all he  does is jog about  the park with those two arms raised  pressed into his chest and when in possession gives the ball away when challenged because he has feck all upper body strength and is easily dispossessed. Brandon should be nowhere near the first team.

Dembele looked good when he came on, had a couple good chances.  He was running at tired legs by that point in fairness.

I've been impressed every time by Hickey.  Desperately needs to fill out a bit but he could be a great player for us in a few years.  I thought he was probably one of our best players today with Bobby.

Hope that's the last we ever see from Brandon in a hearts strip.

He's had a couple of flashes in the first team but on the whole he's a poor player and way below the standard we need.  21 now so getting a bit too old for the youth team and nowhere near good enough for the first team.

There's nothing to be learned or gleaned from two B-teams playing out a meaningless end of season dead rubber.

Never any positives for some.

Must be a horrible existence.

For me there were loads of positives in a nothing game. Hickey and Irvine for

one. Mullaney and Wighton first half.  Bobby showing confidence but no chance with either goal. Kept to a respectable scoreline and didn’t fold like we usually do after going down to an early goal. 6th is where we deserved to finish. Surely we can only improve from here.

Some people need to take a ****ing break and remember that sometimes it's ok to just enjoy a game of football for what it is.

Any manager from Fort William to Liverpool who leaves any player on, especially a young 16 year old, who is obviously in trouble and in pain

and makes a substitution for a player who is retiring should be shown

the door. Souttar wasn’t injured it was just a gesture which could of

been made in our last home game. And all because of this our young

16 year old left back has to suffer which is pure stupidity from Levein.

Interesting watch. I think we might have one or two from that team regularly in the first team squad next season. Irving in particular looked pretty handy.

I really don’t get the downright depressive nonsense from some on here. We all knew that it was going to be a nothing at stake match.  I have seen far more experience Hearts side take a doing in these games at   Parkhead. Let’s focus on next Saturday now. Just a bit of luck and we can do this.

A few embarrassing themselves. A touch of cramp is painful but great character.

Imagine if Souttar had stayed on and been crocked
